Eurocamp Accommodation Guide: Comfort vs Premium Mobile Homes (With Real Photos)

One of the biggest decisions when booking a Eurocamp holiday is choosing the right accommodation. Eurocamp parks offer several different mobile home types, ranging from simple, budget-friendly options to more spacious premium lodges. You can even still stay in tents on some sites (although I haven’t done that since I was a kid myself!)

If you’re wondering what Eurocamp accommodation is really like, then you’ve come to the right place. In fact, last summer we visited two Eurocamps and tried two different accommodation types, opting for a Comfort mobile home for our first week and then a Premium mobile home for the second week. After staying in several Eurocamp parks across Europe over the past decade, we’ve experienced both Comfort and Premium mobile homes on many occasions, and there are some important differences to know before you book.

In this guide, I’ll show you exactly what each type of Eurocamp accommodation is like, with real photos and honest advice, so you can decide which is the best option for your family. We choose both, and enjoy both, but for different reasons. Because I know first-hand how hard it can be to pick your accommodation from the website photos alone!

Eurocamp Accommodation Types Explained

Eurocamp parks offer several different types of mobile homes depending on the location and the park. You’ll even find different levels within the accomodation types listed below (some parks offer a comfort or a comfort plus category, for example). But the most common options for Eurocamp accomodation are:

Accommodation TypeBest For
Comfort Mobile HomesBudget-friendly family holidays
Premium Holiday HomesFamilies wanting more space and modern interiors
Ultimate Mobile HomesLarger, luxury mobile homes available at some parks

For most families, the choice usually comes down to Comfort vs Premium. And these are always our preferred options too, so let’s take a closer look at what each one is like. And perhaps more importantly, what each accomodation type includes.

What Is a Eurocamp Comfort Mobile Home Like?

Comfort mobile homes are usually the most affordable accommodation option at Eurocamp parks. They’re simple but practical and include everything you need for a comfortable family stay.

Inside a typical Comfort mobile home you’ll usually find:

  • A living and dining area
  • A compact kitchen with essential equipment. This is usually in the same room as the living/diner
  • One double bedroom
  • One or two twin bedrooms
  • A bathroom and toilet (these are two separate rooms, which is much more handy than you might think!)
  • Outdoor seating or a small decking area

The layout is designed to maximise space, so although the mobile homes aren’t huge, they are surprisingly functional for families.

What you will notice is that you WON’T find a separate sofa area: the soft bench-style seat around the dining table serves double duty as the sofa. You’ll also notice that there ISN’T A TV in the Eurocamp Comfort Accomodation. This didn’t bother us, because we were happy to sit on the balcony playing card games in the evenings, but it is something that some families might find difficult.

On our Eurocamp holidays we’ve found Comfort mobile homes are a great choice when we want to save money, and we;ve used them for both short breaks and week-long stays. If you plan to spend most of your time enjoying the park facilities or exploring the local area, then there’s no reason to pay more!

Many Eurocamp parks are located in fantastic destinations such as around Lake Garda in Italy or in the beautiful countryside of the Dordogne in France. We tend to pick our Eurocamp site based on what we want to see and do in the local area, which means we’re always out exploring rather than spending all day inside the accommodation. Comfort accomodation does the job!

What Is a Eurocamp Premium Mobile Home Like?

Premium mobile homes are a step up in both comfort and style. These units tend to be newer and more modern, with a little more space and some extra features that make family holidays easier. You’ll have a comfy sofa in your living room and more outdoor space for relaxing on. If you’re children are a little older (teens that need their own space) then this is something well worth considering.

Typical features of Premium accommodation include:

  • More spacious living areas
  • Modern interiors and furniture, including a flat screen TV
  • Larger decking with outdoor seating (we had an outdoor dining table AND cushion clad corner sofa area)
  • Air conditioning at many parks (we would never book accomodation without air conditioning)
  • Sometimes a dishwasher or upgraded kitchen equipment
  • A slightly larger overall layout

One of the biggest differences we noticed during our stays was the outdoor space. Premium mobile homes often have a much larger decking area, which makes a big difference when you want to relax outside in the evenings while the kids play nearby. We could eat on the outdoor dining area, BBQ, relax on the comfortable seating, AND hanf our swinwear out to dry all at the same time.

If you’re planning a longer stay or travelling with older children, Premium accommodation can feel noticeably more comfortable.

Comfort vs Premium Eurocamp Mobile Homes: Key Differences

If you’re trying to decide between the two, this comparison table should help.

FeatureComfort Mobile HomePremium Mobile Home
PriceLower costMore expensive
Interior styleSimple and functionalModern and updated
SpaceCompactSlightly larger
Decking areaSmallerLarger outdoor space
ExtrasBasic facilities (no TV!)Often includes air conditioning and a flat screen TV

Both options offer great value compared with hotels or apartments in many European holiday destinations. In fact, we spent a whole week in a comfort mobile home last summer and it was cheaper than the 2 nights we paid for in road-side hotels on the drive down to the South of France!

Which Eurocamp Accommodation Is Best for Families?

Both Comfort and Premium mobile homes work well for family holidays, but the best choice depends on your budget and how you plan to spend your time. We have stayed in both… a lot. When the boys were younger we favoured Comfort accomodation because we were a young family on the bidget, and because keeping the boys close worked best for us. Now that we have a teen, we prefer the space of the Premium accomodation, and we still spend all our time together, but that little bit of extra room means he can have space when he needs it.

Comfort mobile homes are ideal if:

  • You’re looking for a budget-friendly holiday
  • You’ll mostly be outside exploring the park or local area
  • You’re staying for a shorter trip
  • You have a young family and you like keeping everyone close

Premium mobile homes are better if:

  • You want more space to relax
  • You’re staying for a week or longer
  • Outdoor decking space is important to you
  • You prefer newer accommodation

Tips for Booking Eurocamp Accommodation

We have been on more than a dozen Eurocamp holidays over the years (2 in the lst 12 months alone) , so we’ve learnt a thing or two over the years! If you’re planning your first Eurocamp holiday, I’ve put together a few tips to help you choose the best accommodation:

  • Book early for the best choice. Premium units and the most popular parks often sell out quickly during school holidays. If you have a particular park or accomodation type in mind, book it early. Check options and prices here.
  • Check what’s included. Facilities such as air conditioning can vary between parks. We often book comfort accommodation to save money, but ONLY if it has air con.
  • Consider the park layout. Some accommodation types are located closer to pools, restaurants or playgrounds, which can make a big difference for families, especially on bigger parks.

Ready to Book Your Eurocamp Holiday?

Eurocamp parks are located in some of the most beautiful parts of Europe but they’re so much more affordable than booking a hotel or resort. We love Eurocamp holidays because they allow us to explore Europe on a budget, and in comfort.
