Eurocamp La Marine: A Complete Review of This Small But Perfectly Formed Campsite

If you’re looking for a relaxed and family-friendly campsite in the South of France that isn’t overwhelming in size but really packs a punch when it comes to location then I couldn’t recommend Eurocamp la Marine more.

We love Eurocamp holidays, and they’re the perfect option for exploring in the summer holidays without breaking the bank. And honestly? Cost was a huge factor in our choosing La Marine: It was the cheapest site available in the South of France for Augus that we could findt, at the time of booking.

Eurocamp La Marine A Complete Review of This Small But Perfectly Formed Campsite

Eurocamp La Marine isn’t one of those enormous, all-singing all-dancing resort style sites. But honestly? That’s part of it charm! It does boast a lovely pool resort with giant slides (my boys wouldn’t visit a site that didn’t!), a small playground, as well as a shop, restaurant, cafe and ice cream parlour. But what we REALLY loved about Eurocamp La Marine? Location, location, location! It was so perfectly positioned for exploring one of our new-favourite stretches of coastline, and everything it had to offer.

The Pool Area at Eurocamp La Marine: Perfect For Families

For a small site, the pool area really impressed us! There were two pools for swimming, one of which was heated and one of which wasn’t (not that that mattered much in the middle of August!) There was then a water play area with slides and tipping bucket for younger children, and three different big slides for big kids (and adults too!) These comprised of two winding slides and then racing slides, which we had to compete on as a family.

The pool area had everything you could need while still managing to be compact enough that it felt safe and not intimidating. The whole pool area is also completely gated, with only 2 gates in and out. For this reason, it would be a great choice for families with younger children OR mixed age families, because there’s plenty to occupy older kids, while knowing that younger ones are safe and secure.

As an added bonus, we found it easy to grab sunbeds and sun umbrellas. There was never a bun fight to find somewhere to sit, no matter what the time of day. Meaning that Mike and I could take it in turns to splash with the kids and soak up the sun with our books. This is the ideal option if you’re looking for fun and excitement, but without the overwhelming buzz of a mega-resort.

Playground and Other On-Site Attractions

There is a small playground on site, but this is best suited to younger kids, or for a quick run-around before dinner. My boys were 9 and 12, and this playground was too small for them if i’m being completely honest. But they enjoyed riding their scooters down there to bounce on the trampoline and chat to the other kids while Mike was firing up the BBQ in the early evening!

The size of the campsite actually worked in our favour here: I didn’t have any concerns about giving the boys a little independence to pop to the park, or go to the bakery in the shop to grab croissants and bread for breakfast. Under the safe wing of his big brother, my youngest in particular loved the novelty of this freedom!

Other facilities that the site had were a restaurant (I had an excellent steak!), take away pizzeria, shop, reception/information area, and a children’s club, but we didn’t use this so I can’t give a review. There was also evening entertainment each night, which was a nice way to pass an hour before bedtime. There were also different external vendors each night: glitter tattoos, candy floss and sweets, hair braiding. The sort of stuff that doesn’t break the bank, but that kids can’t get enough of!

How Much Does Eurocamp La Marine Cost?

This is the cheapest Eurocamp we’ve ever visited, and we were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was, and how great the location was, for the money. We booked this as a 5 night break on our South of France road trip, and the price was one of our deciding factors in booking. But we would definitely visit here again!

Our accomodation at Eurocamp La Marine

This year the parks opening dates are from 6 Apr 2026 – 27 Sep 2026, so I priced up two different breaks for a family of four: one in May and one in the school summer holidays

7 Nights in May: From May 23rd would cost £277 at time of writing.
7 nights in August: From August 26th would cost £462 at time of writing.

Note: travelling at the end of August is always significantly cheaper than travelling at the beginning of August. It’s one of my top money-saving tips!

👉Tip: Eurocamp holidays sell out quickly at La Marine, especially in peak summer, so it’s worth booking as early as possible to secure your dates.

The Real Star of La Marine: Location, Location, Location!

The reason we would happily go back to Eurocamp La Marine again and again? It is in such a good location, surrounded with so many things to see and do! For this reason, I do recommend taking your car (or hiring one) if you choose this campsite, so you don’t miss out on all the adventures.

Grau de Roi in the South of France

Eurocamp La Marine is located on the outskirts of Le Grau-du-Roi, which is a beautiful coastal town with a wonderful laid-back Mediterranean vibe. The waters are shallow, the sandy beaches go on for miles, and we loved eating lunch in little cafes overlooking the ocean, or walking along the promenade at night with an ice cream in hand.

Some of the things we loved nearby included:

  • The Seaquarium Grau-du-Roi. This is a lovely (albeit crowded) aquarium that is also home to a Requinarium, which is the only shark centre in Europe. If you love sharks you can’t miss this! Read our full review at Seaquarium Grau-du-Roi, France: What To Expect On Your Visit
  • Aigues-Mortes. My favourite trip we took was to the ancient walled city of Aigues-Mortes, where we walked the city walls and explored this fascinating site. Read more at Exploring The Medieval Walled City Of Aigues-Mortes In France With Kids
  • Montpellier. The closest large city to Grau-du-Roi is Montpellier, which is around a 30 minute drive away. This is a great place to explore architecture, art galleries, and of course indulge in a spot of shopping. • Camargue Nature Reserve. Did you know that you can actually see huge flocks of wild flamingos in France? You’ll find this at the Camargue Nature Reserve, as well as on every patch of water you walk past! Watching flamingos flying overhead as we were driving from place to place was so exciting: there are also stables packed full of Camargue horses just outside of the campsite that you can walk to visit, or even arrange a sunset ride along the beach.

Final Thoughts and Further Reading

Eurocamp La Marine is a great site for:

  • Families with younger children
  • Parents who prefer a smaller, more manageable sized campsite
  • Anyone looking for the perfect base to explore the Carmargue region
  • Anyone looking to save money over flashy on-site entertainment

For us this wasn’t about staying somewhere extravagant, it was about staying somewhere well located. And we really weren’t disappointed! We loved the pool area, and the fact that we could always find sunbeds when we needed them. And we loved being able to explore to our hearts content!
