Legoland Windsor Hotel Review: Everything You Need To Know For First-Time Visitors

Planning a trip to Legoland Windsor? A stay at the Legoland Windsor Hotel can make it even more magical! We’ve visited Legoland Windsor dozens of times before, and we’ve stayed in several of their off-site, partner hotels, but this is our first time staying in the official Legoland Hotel on the Legoland Windor resort. And it really did enhance our experience: we’re absolute converts to the onsite hotel experience! Here’s our in-depth Legoland Windsor hotel review covering everything you need to know as a first-time visitor, or as a visitor to the hotel in 2026:

Legoland Windsor Hotel Review Everything You Need To Know For First-Time Visitors

Note: This review is based on a visit taken in March 2026, staying for one nights and two days in the hotel and Legoland Park.

How to Book and What It Costs

The best way to book the Legoland Windsor Hotel is as part of the package via the Legoland Windsor website (after all, you’re not going to go to the hotel without also visiting the theme park!) and these packages offer the best value. You can’t buy these packages anywhere else.

Packages change regularly. When we booked, we got a second day in the theme park for free included as part of our package. We paid £380 for 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 10.

The current offers on the website are Easter breaks, which are available from £122pp (you can check these out here) and Mid Week breaks from £84pp (you can check these out here). Visiting mid-week is a great way to beat the crowds and avoid the queues in the park! Both of these packages include breakfast and free car parking

Legoland Windsor Hotel Rooms: Comfort Meets Creativity

There are five different types of themed rooms you can choose from at the Legoland Hotel. These are Pirate, Adventure, Kingdom, LEGO Friends, and Ninjago, so you can pick the room that best suits your kids current Lego obsession! We opted for a pirate room, and it was a great choice for us. The theming was so immersive, as you arrived on the pirate floor the decor, including the carpet and wallpaper, were all themed.

These are family rooms that can sleep up to five people, and what I really liked was that the room was split into two distinct areas, giving both kids and grown-ups their own space and privacy.

  • The adult area featured a double bed, small seating area with a coffee table, a large desk/console with a mirror above it, a safe, wall-mounted TV, and a hair dryer. There were also tea and coffee- making facilities. The whole hotel and Legoland park offered free Wi-Fi. And you could call down to reception if you needed anything else, like an iron.
  • The bed was comfortable and had 2 generous, fluffy pillows. Hotels that give you only one pillow, or thin pillows, are my pet hate!
  • The children’s area had a bunk bed, but if you’re a family with three children, a third bed could pull out from underneath the bottom bunk. This was the most themed area of the room with Lego models all over the walls, in-built activities and an in-built TV.
  • To the delight of the two boys, there was a box of bricks for in-room Lego building, and an in-room treasure hunt! If they cracked the code they could open the safe. Of course they did, and inside they found a Legoland lanyard and a small lego set each to take home as a souvenir. This is such a nice touch, and the boys loved it.
  • Finally, the bathroom. Bright, also themed (but more gently) and generous in size. It had a toilet, large sink and mirror, and a bathtub with a shower over it. There were plenty of fresh towels in the bathroom.

Dining: Restaurants and Bars

The Legoland Windsor Hotel offers two main dining options. These are:

Outside the Bricks Restaurant in Legoland Windsor
  • Bricks Family Restaurant. If your package includes breakfast then you will enjoy a buffet-style breakfast here, and it also offers an evening buffet dinner here. We paid for this and it cost £92 for 2 adults and 2 children aged under 12. You pay for your dinner before you dine, then you order drinks at your table and pay your drinks bill at the end of the meal.

The cost of the buffet is a little pricey, but I will say that the quality of the food was excellent. We all had different dietary requirements, but we all left absolutely stuffed! The pulled pork nachos and the sticky toffee pudding were particular highlights. I’ve popped the menu below:

Entertainment: Fun Beyond the Legoland Park

If you check in online (recommended for sheer convenience) then you don’t have to approach the check in desk when you arrive at the hotel. You can just get your tickets from the automatic check in machines (pictured below). But do make sure you get all of the leaflets that are on this check in desk. As well as a resort guide you’ll also find a schedule of the events happening in the hotel, as well as opening times for the play room, swimming pool, and restaurants.

I’ve included information about all of these services and facilities below.

Swimming Pool and Lego Playroom

Two our the boys favourite features in the hotel were the swimming pool and the Legoland Playroom.

To visit the pool, you had to pre-book an hour-long slot, and you could only book one hour-long slot per stay. You could either do this before you arrived in the park (I would recommend doing this to get the first pick of available times) or via QR code when you arrived at the hotel.

The swimming pool area in Legoland Windsor hotel

The pool is pirate themed , but very small. There is a small water park area with one racing slide and features like fountains and tipping buckets, then a small pool for swimming which is 1.20m deep at all points. For this reason, one hour of swimming time is plenty (although the boys would probably argue they could have stayed for longer!)

I would love to see a bigger swimming pool opened here. One of the things we love most about the Alton Towers Splash Landings hotel is their water park, and having access to a good pool makes a weekend away feel more like a holiday to me.

Ratios for Legoland Windsor hotel pool

It’s worth noting that there are adult to child rations you will have to follow to visit the pool. These are:

  • Child under 2. 1 adult to 1 child
  • Child aged 3 to 7. 1 adult to 2 children
  • Child age 8 to 11. Competent swimmers must be accompanied by an adult poolside

You’ll need to pack your own swimwear, of course, but no need to pack towels as these are provided. If you forget your swimwear, they do sell this in the hotel shop. There are changing rooms and free-to-use lockers in the pool area. For ease and convenience, I recommend packing flip flops or crocs to get back to your room.

The swimming pool at Legoland Windsor hotel

Right next door to the swimming pool is the Lego Playroom. This is a relatively new feature that was opened in 2023 and is such a highlight of staying in this hotel.

It’s a huge, brightly coloured Lego Playroom including dozens of themed play tables, an interactive aquarium-themed activity wall, and even a small soft play area for babies and toddlers. But the main attraction, of course, is the thousands and thousands of Lego bricks to play with. The boys spent hours here after dinner.

The Lego Playroom is also home to a small and very calming sensory room for children that would benefit from access to this facility.

At the time of our visit, the play room was opened from 4pm – 9pm. We booked dinner for 6pm and then the boys happily played here for a couple of hours afterwards. I loved that Legoland have created this space where children can play, screen-free, and enjoy what is often ‘dead time’ in hotels between dinner and bedtime.

There is a small bar area for parents to sit in the Play Area, serving snacks, soft drinks, beers, wines and ciders. If you want a cocktail then these are served in the Skyline bar downstairs, but you have to go down to order them and then bring them up yourselves.

Extra Perks For Legoland Hotel Guests

Styaing at the Legoland Hotel comes with some great perks that you won’t get if you book a package and stay at one of the other, off-site partner hotels. There are:

  • Exclusive early park access. This is the biggest perk in my opinion. The park opens at 10am, but hotel guests could enter from 9.30am, with access to 5 rides. During our visit, those rides were: Flight of the Skylion, Fire and Ice Freefall, Coastguard HQ, Laser Raiders, and Haunted House Monster Party. You can then get in line for any other ride you want, reducing ride time when the park opens.
Meeting Shark Guy at Legoland Windsor Hotel
  • Exclusive character experiences. Meeting Lego characters in your hotel, with no line, and often characters that you can’t meet in the park, is another exclusive perk for hotel guests.
  • Evening entertainment options. During our stay, these included a kids disco, mini figure bingo, and character meets.

Is It Worth It?

Honestly, we had such an amazing weekend! As you can tell by the photos I travelled with our youngest, alongside his best friend and mum (my good pal) rather than our usual family of four. This was a birthday treat for the boys. And they loved every minute!

If you’re travelling with kids who love Lego, particularly primary school aged children, then this hotel is worth every penny. The combination of themed rooms, dining, play areas, and exclusive perks really enhanced our whole Legoland experience, and saved so much stress and hassle during the visit.

If you’re travelling with older kids/teens I might think again. My 13 year old would have looked very out of place in the swimming pool or in the Lego Playroom! These facilities are definitely designed with kids from 3-11 in mind.

Not from a Lego obsessed family? The Legoland Windsor hotel may feel pricey. I totally understand that, it’s why we haven’t visited before! But now we’ve been, I would say that for first-time visitors looking for convenience and a magical atmosphere, there really is no better choice!

Legoland Windsor Hotel Frequently Asked Questions

Are Meals included in the Legoland Windsor Hotel?

The answer to this question depends on what type of package you book, as Legoland run special packages and promotions that change on a regular basis. Breakfast is generally inclued, and the package we booked included breakfast. We did eat dinner in the hotel, but this was available at an extra charge.

How Far is The Legoland Windsor Hotel From the Legoland Windsor Park?

The proximity of the Legoland Windsor Hotel to the Legoland Windsor park is one of it’s biggest selling points. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a hotel room with a view of the park from your window. The walk to the rides from the hotel was much shorter than from the resort car park when we visited as day guests. When you’re a hotel guest, you enter the park from the bottom near the Mythica section of the park, rather than at ‘The Beginning’.

Is It Worth Staying at Legoland Hotel Windsor?

Yes, staying in the Legoland Hotel Windsor hotel is worth it provided you’re interested in the perks that come from staying here. These include early park access, fully immersive themed rooms, plenty of Lego play areas, and an all-inclusive feel. You do pay for all of these privileges of course (I won’t lie and say this was a cheap hotel) but if your kids love Lego, there really is nowhere better to be!

Is Car Parking Included?

Yes! Another great perk is that when you stay at the Legoland Hotel Windsor, your parking in the hotel car park is included as part of your package. There are also electric vehicle charging ports in this car park, which is super handy if you’re driving an EV.
