Visiting Disneyland Paris in March 2026: Why It’s the Perfect Time for Families
If you’re planning a family trip to Disneyland Paris, March is one of the best months to visit. We’ve visited Disneyland Paris close to a hundred times, but I think visiting Disneyland Paris in March is going to be one of the very best times for families to explore the park, particularly this year.

You’ve probably read all of the hype about Frozen Kingdom. The new and exciting part of the Disney Studios park which is opening on 29th March this year. And that can only mean one thing: crowds and increased demand! Visiting earlier in the month will give families one last chance for a calmer, more relaxed experience, perfect for kids and parents alike, and the last time you’ll find the park quiet in 2026 in my opinion!
Here’s why March 2026 might be the ideal window for your next Disneyland Paris adventure:

Enjoy the Park at a Relaxed Pace
Disneyland Paris can get extremely busy: not surprising when you consider that it’s one of the most popular theme parks in Europe. And those crowd levels only increased when a new attraction launches. Because Frozen Kingdom isn’t just a ride, it a whole new section of the park, and it’s been under construction for years, it’s expected to be even higher demand.

If your kids aren’t that interested in Frozen, or if you’ve never been to Disneyland Paris before, visiting BEFORE Frozen Kingdom opens will mean you can:
- Avoid the massive opening day crowds (many people are reporting that they are putting off their visits until after the new attractions open)
- Take the park at your own pace, walking between rides without long waits: A huge benefit if you’re travelling with young kids.
- Take advantage of shorter ride queues (comparatively)
Mild Spring Weather
I’m going to have a goldilocks moment here: If December in Disneyland Paris is too cold and summer in Disneyland Paris is sweltering hot, then the weather in March is just right. It’s much easier to enjoy the park as a family when you’re not worried about temperature management for young children.

Expect daytime temperatures in March to be between 10-15 degrees celsius, which is a good temperature for enjoying outdoor rides. We’ve had March visits where the weather has been even warmer, and the early spring sunshine makes a really difference when you’re waiting in the elements for parades, to meet characters, or even walking between rides.

Pros and Cons of Visiting Before Frozen Kingdom Opens
I think perhaps I’m approaching this from a slightly unique perspective: My boys are a little older and they have no interest in Frozen. So visiting while the park is quieter is definitely favourable for us! And having been in Tokyo Disney when the new Fantasy Springs expansion opened (and seeing how busy the parks was!) I have no desire to do that again. But that’s just my perspective!

What are the pros and cons of visiting Disneyland Paris before Frozen Kingdom opens? Which families will this be the best choice for?
PROS
- Shorter queue times
- Less crowded parks, restaurants and cafes
- A more relaxed family experience, particularly for younger families
- This is the best choice for visiting the main Disneyland Paris Park
CONS
- You’ll miss the brand new Frozen Kingdom experience
- The Disney Studios park has a lot of boarding up, and isn’t a full park experience right now

If you’ve visited Disneyland Paris before, it will be easier to decide whether the slightly reduced Disney Studios experience is worth it for you. But in my opinion, for families with younger kids (or those that don’t like crowds) I think the calm experience you can have will far outweigh missing out on a couple of new rides. And you can always plan another trip once it’s quieter after the opening rush (which I expect to last around 6 months!)
Top Tips For Disneyland Paris March Visitors
- Book tickets and hotels early. Even though March is going to be a quieter period, the best deals can still get snapped up. We book our tickets via Klook and we LOVE the offsite Explorers Pirate Hotel. You can read our full review of this hotel here.
- Take advantage of shorter queue times. You’ll find the queue times are shorter in March than in other months (compared to peak months like summer and Easter) but there are still tips for taking advantage of this. Do your favourite/the most popular rides earlier and later in the day when queue times are shorter. Do you want to watch the parade? If not, this is also a great time to hit some of the big rides.
- Plan dining in advance. If you want to do any character dining then book this before you arrive: it books out year-round. For other dining, check and book in advance because some restaurants reduce their hours, or even close, outside of the peak season.

Final Thoughts and Further Reading
This March is such a good time to visit Disneyland Paris, if you’re thinking about visiting Disneyland Paris in 2026. You’ll find the perfect balance of manageable crowd levels, mild weather (without any extremes), and the convenience for young families that you’re unlikely to find at any other time this year.

If your children are a bit younger, or you want to enjoy the park without feeling like you’re battling the masses, visit BEFORE Frozen Kingdom opens. It’s a smart choice. Visiting with little Frozen fans? Or you’re a regular Disneyland Park goer and you can’t wait to see what the new expansion is all about? Ignore all of this, run the gauntlet, and accept that the crowds will be worth the reward!
