The Best Things to Book With Klook in Japan (2026): What We Actually Use It For
Planning a trip to Japan and wondering what’s actually worth booking on Klook?
After four trips to Japan and hundreds of Klook bookings, it’s now one of the apps we use the most when we’re travelling.
From Tokyo Disney tickets and Universal Studios Japan passes to Shinkansen tickets, airport transfers, and Mount Fuji tours, we use Klook for almost everything.
We travel to Japan regularly as a family of four with two boys. These are the bookings we genuinely use ourselves, and the Japan experiences I’d recommend booking on Klook first.
Our Top 5 Klook Bookings in Japan
If you’re short on time and don’t want to read the whole article, these are the five bookings with use in Klook the most often:
- Universal Studios Japan tickets
- Tokyo Disney Resort tickets
- Japan Rail/Shinkansen tickets
- teamLab Planets TOKYO
- Airport transfers and eSIMs

Why We Keep Using Klook In Japan
We partner with Klook because it’s a website that we genuinely use. We wouldn’t recommend anything that we didn’t use (and love) ourselves!
In fact, across our four family trips to Japan (and counting!) we’ve used Klook hundreds of times to book:
- Attraction tickets
- Train tickets
- Airport transfers
- SIM cards and eSIMs
- City passes
- Day trips
So why do we like using Klook so much? Because:
✔ You can book in your local currency
✔ You get instant confirmation
✔Easy mobile tickets you can use straight from your phone: No printer required!
✔ It’s often cheaper and easier than booking direct
✔ Everything is stored in one place
1. Universal Studios Japan Tickets
Universal Studios Japan is the most visited theme park in all of Asia and the third most visited theme park in the world. And there’s a reason for this: the Super Nintendo World in this park alone is nothing short of iconic. We cannot wait to be going back again, and to visit the new Donkey Kong Country section of the park for the first time.

Because it’s so popular, Universal Studios Japan tickets, and particularly the Express Passes which allow you to skip ride queues, can book up fast. However the Universal Studios Japan website can be difficult to navigate and doesn’t always accept Western Credit Cards: A problem we had on our first trip, and actually the reason why we discovered Klook in the first place!
When you book with Klook you’ll get:
- English confirmation of your tickets and Express Pass times
- An instantly downloadable QR code ticket, so you won’t have to worry about paper tickets on the gates

2. Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea Tickets
For us, no visit to Japan is complete without spending some time in the Tokyo Disney Resort. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are beautiful theme parks with rides and attractions that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

If you have the time in your schedule, I recommend spending one day in each park so that you can really appreciate what they both have to offer: Tokyo DisneySea, in particular, has some of the most immersive theme park theming that I have ever experienced.
So why book your tickets with Klook? We find using Klook easier than booking via the direct Tokyo Disney Resort site because:
- Klook works with international cards (or Apple Pay, or any other way you want to pay!)
- Klook offers instant confirmation with tickets sent straight to your phone
- You get a mobile ticket (no printing needed)
- Clear pricing in your local currency. The Klook website allows you to change your language and currency to almost any in the world, so you know exactly what you’ll be spending.

3. Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Tickets
Travelling between cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka on a high-speed train is one of the highlights of a Japan trip, and it’s the easiest way to get from A to B too. If you’ve got kids that love trains, a bullet train ride definitely shouldn’t be missed as an attraction in its own right, but of course it’s also a practical way of getting around.

I strongly recommend booking your shinkansen tickets in advance, especially if you’re travelling during a peak period (cherry blossom season, for example) or if you’re travelling with large luggage, which needs to be booked in advance.
Official bookings open one month in advance, but if you book your tickets with Klook then you can buy your tickets well in advance of this, pre-requesting the train times and seats you want, then Klook will do all the work of actually making the reservations for you.
Another benefit that we love is that Klook sends you a QR code to board the train. No language barriers, no hassle, which I always love! Scan the QR code in your voucher and you’re good to go.

4. TeamLabs Digital Art Museums
TeamLabs is a digital art gallery unlike anything I’ve ever visited before or since. You move through a series of rooms, each with its own unique sensory experience. You might wade through water, or wander through a room of mirrors, as light and imagery is projected onto it.
What is so wonderful about Teamlabs is that it works for all ages, and can be enjoyed on a myriad of levels. The new Athletics Forest expansion, in particular, is a great addition for children.

So why book with Klook? Well the main beneift is that Klook offer access to early and late booking slots that you can’t get anywhere else. As one of my top tips is to book the earliest slot and visit without the crowds, this is so important. Klook also offers ‘skip the line’ entrance passes, which cost a little more but allow you to visit TeamLabs at whatever time you wish, ideal if you don’t like planning your days by the hour!

5. Sanrio Puroland
Sanrio Puroland (often referred to as Hello Kitty Land) is an indoor theme park dedicated to all things Hello Kitty, and her other Sanrio friends. It’s a kawaii, colourful, psychedellic dream-land of a destination. Not quite a theme park (there are only two, very small rides), Sanrio Puroland is packed full of restaurants, characters to meet, shows, and so much to see and do.

Sanrio Puroland isn’t actually located in Tokyo (although that’s where most people visit the park from). It’s located in Tama City and getting there will take around between 30 minutes – 1 hour from Tokyo. For that reason? I strongly recommend booking your tickets before you arrive at the park:

6. Mount Fuji & Hakone Day Trip From Tokyo
You can’t go to Japan without seeing Mount Fuji: it’s the spiritual heart of the whole country, and such an incredible thing to see and experience. You can DIY a trip to Fuji, but it’s a lot of work (and can be pretty expensive) so I always recommend the ease and convenience of a Mount Fuji day trip from Tokyo.

We’ve had such great experiences with Klook excursions in Japan and Asia in general, which is why we always recommend booking the same trip that we did: the Mount Fuji & Hakone Day Trip from Tokyo.

7. Warner Bros. Studios Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter – Tokyo
We all (unexpectedly!) had such a great time at the Warner Bros. Studios Tour, Making of Harry Potter. We booked this as a treat for our youngest, who is Harry Potter mad, but there was something for everyone, even the non-Harry Potter fans, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

As well as being convenient and easy to book (with tickets you can use from your phone) I recommend using Klook to book your Harry Potter Studios Tour tickets because they have a Klook exclusive offer where you get a free Harry Potter headband gift included in your ticket price – and who doesn’t love a freebie? You can choose 1 character headband valued at JPY 1,000 per person, and there are loads of characters to choose from.

8. Fushimi Inari-Taisha | Arashiyama |Kiyomizu-Dera Day Tour from Kyoto
If you’re short and time and you want to enjoy everything that Kyoto has to offer without the stress and hassle of navigating this busy city independently then I recommend booking a city tour.

It is possible to explore Kyoto independently (we can and have done this) but you won’t be able to see all of these attractions in just one day if you don’t book a tour: and this is the very best tour of Kyoto on the market!

FAQs About Using Klook in Japan
Is Klook Worth Using in Japan?
Yes, Klook is definitely worth using in Japan. In fact, we’ve used it on every single Japan trip we’ve taken. Why? Because it makes booking attractions and transportation much easier, especially as you can book in your own currency and then download the tickets straight to your phone
Is Klook Cheaper Than Booking Direct?
The answer to this question is usually yes, but that depends on the attraction you want to book: with thousands to choose from, I can’t personally guarentee that each one is cheaper. But when you apply promo codes or use Klook’s frequent discounts, you’ll find that Klook is almost always cheaper. My Klook promo code is THATMUMTRAVEL5KLOOK to make your Klook bookings even more affordable.
What Should I Book on Klook First?
We’d prioritise booking:
- Theme park tickets
- Airport transfers
- Shinkansen tickets or JR Rail Passes
- The most popular attractions on your itinerary first
Our Favourite Way To Save on Japan Bookings
If you’re planning to visit Japan then I strongly recommend downloading the Klook app before you go. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve turned to this app, but well in advance or our trips, and even on the day of our trips while making last minute plans!
