If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo Disney Resort and trying to decide where to stay, then the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel is probably already on your radar. We feature it in our list of the best places to stay near Tokyo Disney. And we stayed here during our most recent Japan trip in a park view room, and honestly? It completely exceeded our expectations.

From watching the Disney fireworks from the balcony of our hotel room to one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had anywhere in the world (and as you can imagine, we stay in a lot of hotels), the Sheraton Grand Tokyo Bay feels more like a resort experience than just a convenient place to sleep between park days. Although it is great for that too!

• Families visiting Tokyo Disney Resort
• People wanting extra space, as these are very generous-sized Western hotel rooms
• Those wanting hotel facilities beyond just a room, because this hotel is absolutely packed full of them!
• Travellers who want a more affordable alternative to Disney’s official luxury hotels while still being in the Disney bubble

❗ Might not suit:

• Ultra-budget travellers, as there are cheaper hotels you could choose
• Those wanting to walk directly into the parks. This hotel is on the Disney monorail, and they also provide a free direct shuttle to the parks too
• People planning a very short one-night stay. You just wouldn’t have the time to make the most of all of the facilities

Where Is The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel?

The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay is located right in the heart of the Disney bubble, in Urayasu City, directly inside the Tokyo Disney Resort.

The full address is: 1-9 Maihama, Urayasu City, Chiba 279-0031, Japan

• Nearest station: 2-3 minute walk to Bayside Station
• Distance to Tokyo Station: 35 minutes
• Distance to Haneda Airport: 23 minute drive time by taxi
• Distance to Narita Airport: 47 minute drive time by taxi

Location: Is the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Convenient for Disney?

The answer to that question is a definitive yes! The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay couldn’t be better located for visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort.

The hotel is located in the Tokyo Disney Resort area and is an official Disney partner hotel, which means it’s designed specifically around the needs and convenience of park visitors. In fact, you wouldn’t be any closer to the Disney parks even if you chose some of the official Disney hotels: The Toy Story Hotel is right next door, for example!

And the team at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay work hard to make sure getting their hotel guests to the park is as easy as possible.

The easiest way to access the parks is via the Disney Resort Line monorail. You’re just one stop on the monorail from Tokyo DisneySea or three stops on the monorail from Tokyo Disneyland. The Bayside Station is just a short walk from the hotel (it takes around 3 minutes to walk!) but if you don’t want to walk there is even a shuttle bus from the hotel to the station on a constant loop all day.

In practice, we found getting to the parks easy and stress-free, and we loved how easy it was to get home at night. Getting out of the park with tired kids at the end of the day is my least favourite part of visiting Tokyo Disney, but for the first time this just wasn’t a problem for us.

One thing we really appreciated was being able to stay “inside the Disney bubble” without paying the significantly higher prices of some of the official Disney hotels. We really immersed ourselves in all things Disney, and the hotel even has its own large Disney Store. We stayed in this hotel for the first three nights of our month long trip to Japan and it really was the perfect way to start our trip.

Our Park View Room

We had originally booked a standard room, but we were upgraded to a park view room on arrival. I would 100% book a park view room, and pay the little extra, on our next visit because of the view that it gave us.

There’s something genuinely magical about waking up and seeing Tokyo Disney Resort from your hotel window, especially for kids. We all spent time standing on the balcony looking at the park and watching the monorail whizz by every morning before we headed into the park.

At night, we could even see the fireworks from our room, which ended up being one of our favourite memories from the trip. It rained, hard, on our first Disney day so we left early to watch the fireworks from the comfort of our room. After a long Disney day, being able to watch the fireworks in pyjamas while relaxing in the room felt incredibly special.

The room itself was also much larger than many standard Tokyo hotel rooms, which made a huge difference as a family of four. The bathroom and the balcony were both large too.

What we liked about the room:

• It was spacious compared to most Tokyo hotels (it was actually the biggest room we stayed in during our whole trip)
• Comfortable beds. We had 2 double beds and a single bed in our room for our family of four.
• Great views
• Enough space for luggage. We had 4 large suitcases and there was room to store it in both the bottom of the wardrobe and on the luggage rack.
• Family-friendly layout that was made with families in mind. There was even space for a small table and chairs, which we relaxed on while we ate room service on our first night as we came straight from the airport.

After staying in smaller city hotels during parts of our Japan trip, the extra space here felt like such a luxury.

The Breakfast: One of the Best We’ve Ever Had

As you can imagine, given the amount we travel, we stay in a lot of hotels and we eat a lot of hotel breakfasts. So I don’t say this lightly when I say: this was probably the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever experienced.

The breakfast buffet was enormous, with both Japanese and western options, and the quality was genuinely excellent. We ate so much on our last morning that noone wanted to eat again until dinner time!

There was:

• Fresh pastries and breads
• eggs cooked multiple ways, including a live omlette station
• Japanese breakfast dishes including fresh noodles and fresh salmon cooked in front of you
• Fruit and desserts
• Plenty of child-friendly options (our youngest had chips for breakfast!)
• excellent coffee (important!) and a whole host of different juices

There was even a delicious Caesar Salad served inside a giant parmasen wheel. I’m not proud to admit that one morning, I had three portions…that’s how good it was!

What really stood out was how easy it felt as a family. Everyone could find something they liked, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it set us up perfectly for long Disney days. As an added bonus, they start serving breakfast from 6:00 AM, allowing both early-risers heading to the park and guests with an early departure to start their day smoothly.

Facilities for Kids

This is where the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay really stands out from many standard Tokyo hotels. And is at the heart of why my Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel Review is just so positive! The facilities for kids in this hotel are SO GOOD that on our last day (when we didn’t have park tickets) we spent the whole morning in the hotel, and the boys had so much fun!

Unlike a lot of city hotels that are essentially just a room to sleep in, this hotel actually feels designed for families, and has been laid out for families to enjoy spending time in. Some of the absolute highlights include:

• Wizkids indoor play area. I cannot emphasise how good this is! There was space for children to climb, jump, run and play.
• Namco fun station. There is a Namco Arcade INSIDE THE HOTEL which the boys delighted in! We played Mario Karts here for hours.
• Pools. There is a large indoor pool with a jacuzzi pool, and during the summer months there is an outdoor pool with a waterfall too.
• Mini Golf. There is a whole mini golf course in the grounds of the hotel, when I sa this feels like a full family resort, I really mean it!
• Convenience stores, restaurants, cafes, and cake shops inside the hotel

If you’re travelling with kids, having extra facilities beyond just your room makes the whole trip feel easier and more relaxing. It turns the hotel into an experience in its own right, and we really did love every minute of it.

Is It Worth Staying at a Disney Partner Hotel?

In our opinion: yes. Especially for families. We didn’t have the budget for a Disney hotel, but staying in a Disney Partner hotel gave us so many of the same perks: being on the resort monorail, an on-site Disney Store, and the chance to stay in the Disney bubble without ever having to leave it.

The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay gave us:

• Extra space
• Resort-style facilities
• Disney convenience
• Incredible views
• A fantastic breakfast

…but without the eye-watering prices of some Disney-branded hotels. And those Disney partner hotels don’t have nearly the same amount of child-friendly facilites that the Sheraton does.

Would We Stay At The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Again?

The main question of our Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel Review is would we stay at the hotel again. The answer? Absolutely. In fact, when we return to Tokyo Disney Resort as a family, I think this would be one of the first hotels we’d check availability for again. It was made for families, the room was fabulous, and it was packed full of so many facilities that it felt like a resort. I would love to stay here during the summer months when the outdoors swimming pool is open.

We would recommend this hotel to any family travelling to the Tokyo Disney Resort thanks to the combination of:

There are a lot of hotels near Tokyo Disney Resort, but the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay genuinely felt like part of the experience rather than just somewhere to sleep. For families especially, the extra space, amazing breakfast, and child-friendly facilities made a huge difference to our trip.

And honestly? Watching the Disney fireworks from our hotel room at the end of a long park day is a memory I don’t think any of us will forget anytime soon. It was absolute magic!
