Are Eurocamp Holidays Worth It? An Honest Review After More Than 10 Stays
If you’re considering a Eurocamp holiday, you’ve probably asked yourself one important question: are Eurocamp holidays actually worth it? Or perhaps even more honestly: Are Eurocamp holidays any good?
We’ve taken more than the dozen Eurocamp holidays since the boys were toddlers. And over the past eight years, we’ve stayed at more than ten Eurocamp parks across Europe, including four in the last 18 months alone. So I consider myself an unofficial Eurocamp expert! We’ve experienced different types of accommodation, parks in several countries, and holidays at very different stages of our children’s lives.
The short answer? Yes! Eurocamp holidays are worth it and can be fantastic for families. But there are a few things worth knowing before you book.

What Eurocamp Holidays Are Really Like
Eurocamp holidays are essentially family-friendly holiday parks located in some of the best destinations across Europe. They remind me of resort holidays (similar to some of the all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed in) with the same pools, entertainment, and facilities, but instead of staying in a hotel, you stay in a mobile home. Eurocamp sites vary depending on their size and rating, but they almost always have facilities such as:
- Large swimming pools or water parks
- Kids clubs and playgrounds
- Restaurants and bars
- Sports facilities
- Evening entertainment
Many parks are also located in beautiful areas close to beaches, lakes, or historic towns. We generally opt for beach resorts because we love the water, and we’re happiest when we’re by the sea! Some of our favourite stays have been in Sables D’Or in the South of France and Domaine Du Clary in the Pays de la Loire.
The atmosphere is generally very relaxed and family-focused, which is one of the things we love most about these holidays. You get all the benefits and convenience of your own spacious accomodation (with separate bedrooms for the kids, which you wouldn’t get from a hotel) but with all of the facilities you’d find in a high-end resort.

Why We Love Eurocamp Holidays
Forgive me the walk down memory lane, but when I was a kid we used to load up the car and drive down to Eurocamp Marina De Venezia every summer. We stayed in safari-style tents, eating pizza and fresh tomatoes like they were apples. Those Eurocamp summers are some of my happiest childhood memories. And thats why we first started having Eurocamp holidays: because I wanted to give those same happy memories to my boys. And I love Eurocamp holidays just as much now as I ever did.
On our first Eurocamp holiday we were travelling with a 2 year old. This summer we’ll be travelling with a 10 year old and a 13 year old. After more than a dozen stays, we keep going back for more. Several things make Eurocamp our go-to choice for a budget-friendly summer holiday:
1. They Work for Families at Every Stage
Eurocamp holidays grow with your family. Our trips are just as much fun now as they’ve always been, they just look a little different:
- When our boys were younger, we looked for fun playgrounds and splash parks.
- Now they’re older, we prioritise big water parks (the more slides the better!) and proximity to a good beach.
There are so many Eurocamp holiday parks across Europe, it’s easy to find one that matches your family’s current stage.
2. Fantastic Facilities
I know that Eurocamp sites are technically known as campsites. But many Eurocamp parks feel much closer to a luxury resort than a campsite. Depending on the park, you may find:
- Huge swimming pools & waterslides
- Lazy rivers and wave pools
- Huge adventure playgrounds and sports courts
- Bike hire and even kids clubs
- On-site restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops
- Evening entertainment and nighttime shows for the whole family
With so much on offer, children rarely get bored! In fact, my boys always ask if we can stay “one more night” because we never fit everything they want to do into just one trip!
3. Amazing Locations
Just because Eurocamp holidays are affordable holiday options doesn’t mean that they sacrifice anything in location. Eurocamp parks are often in beautiful regions and in great spots right by beaches, beautiful towns, and exciting attractions. Some of the most popular Eurocamp parks are near:
- Lakeside areas like Lake Garda
- Countryside escapes in the Dordogne
- Family-friendly beaches along the French Riviera
With your own accommodation and kitchen, it’s easy to explore local towns and attractions during your stay. And you can have whatever type of holiday suits you best! Want to be out every day exploring something new? You can? Rather stay on resort and just relax by the pool? That’s easy too! Similarly you can eat out every night, or cook your own favourite recipes. Most Eurocamp sites even provide BBQs so that you can grill after a long day of sunbathing. (TIP: Check what kind of BBQ you’ll get before yuo travel, so you can make sure you collect the right fuel!)

The Downsides of Eurocamp Holidays
No holiday is perfect, and Eurocamp isn’t for everyone. Although we love Eurocamp holidays, it would be wrong of me not to point out some of the problems with Eurocamp breaks to help you genuinely decide if it’s going to be right for your family or not:
- Mobile homes can be compact: But most families spend their days outside enjoying the park or exploring. If this is a concern for you, I recommend opting for a Premium Accomodation instead of a Comfort one for the extra space. - Restaurants can be busy during peak season. And standards can also vary too: We’ve had some great on-site meals, and some not-so-great meals. Having your own kitchen is a plus, and we like to explore off site and support local restaurants when we travel too.
- A car can be useful for exploring parks located in rural areas or near beaches. We’ve never visited a Eurocamp site without a car (although I know some people do) and we wouldn’t want to try it.
Does this mean Eurocamp holidays are a bad choice? Absolutely not! But being aware of these things makes the holiday experience smoother.

Would We Book Eurocamp Again?
After more than a decade of Eurocamp holidays for our family (plus dozens of visits with my own mum and dad when I was a kid myself), the answer is absolutely yes. In fact, we’ve even started looking at booking another Eurocamp holiday for this year, this time to the Netherlands.
What we love most is how these holidays adapt with your family. Our younger children loved playgrounds and splash parks. A slide, a swing, and a bucket of water was enough to keep them entertained and Eurocamp provided that in abundance. Now, with older kids, the water parks and beaches are their highlights. We always pick sites with epic water slides, and looking for a site close to a beach with good surfing is also a priority for my family. But every family is different. What I can promise, is you will find the right Eurocamp for you.
The combination of affordable, spacious accommodation, great facilities, and fantastic locations makes Eurocamp a holiday we return to again and again, especially in the summer months when long haul flights are prohibitively expensive.
