Disneyland Paris Tickets: How to Choose the Best Option for Your Family

Planning a trip to Disneyland Paris with kids is exciting. We’ve visited Disneyland Paris more than 50 times (and counting) and still love going back. But choosing the right Disneyland Paris tickets can feel surprisingly confusing. One day or two? One park or both? Tickets only, or a hotel package?

I’ve visited Disneyland Paris multiple times as a family and written extensively about planning trips there, and the truth is this: there isn’t one “best” Disneyland Paris ticket option for everyone. The right choice depends on how long you’re visiting, where you’re staying, and how you want your days to feel. And let’s be honest, a lot of that has to do with how much you want to spend!

This guide will walk you through 1-, 2-, and 3-day ticket options, explain when it makes sense to book tickets only (for example via Klook), and when you’re actually better off booking a hotel + ticket package directly with Disneyland Paris.

First Things First: How Disneyland Paris Tickets Work

Before choosing how many days you need, it helps to understand the basics:

• 1 park ticket: Entry to either Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios Park
• 1 day 2 park ticket: This allows you to visit both parks in one day
• 2 day park ticket: Access to both parks across two days
• 3 day pack ticket: Access to both parks across three days
• Tickets are generally dated (you choose your visit date in advance)
• Prices vary by season, with school holidays and weekends typically costing more

The most expensive aspect of visiting Disneyland Paris isn’t the transport or the hotels: it’s the Disneyland Paris tickets. Most families will want 2 park access, especially if it’s your first visit. But if you’re on a tight budget, you can still have an AMAZING trip with a one day 1 park ticket.

Is a 1-Day Disneyland Paris Ticket Enough?

We often visit Disneyland Paris for just one day, buying Disneyland Paris tickets for the day so we can see the park in different seasons, or attend for special events (Like Star Wars Day on May 4th).

A 1-day ticket can work well for some families, but it’s not for everyone.

A 1-day ticket is best if:

• You’re visiting Paris and adding Disneyland Paris as a day trip
• You’re staying off-site (another one of my tips for saving money)
• You’ve visited before and are prioritising specific rides
• Your kids are younger and you don’t want a long, exhausting visit
• You want to experience Disneyland Paris but you’re on a tight budget.

If any of these things apply, booking the most affordable one day tickets often makes the most sense.

That said, one day is busy. You won’t do everything (especially if you want to see both parks) and that’s okay if you go in with realistic expectations.

Is a 2-Day Ticket Better for Families?

If you’re not on a really tight budget, you want to explore at a good pace, and you want to explore both parks then two days is the Disneyland Paris ticket sweet spot.

A 2-day ticket is ideal if:

• This is your first visit
• You want to see both parks without rushing
• You’re travelling with children who need breaks
• You want time for parades, shows, and character meets

What we like about two day visits is that you can spend one full day in Disneyland Park and then use the second day to explore Walt Disney Studios Park and revisit favourites.

Is It Cheaper to Book a Disneyland Paris Package?

This is a question I’m asked a lot! Is it cheaper to book a Disneyland Paris package (with tickets and an on site hotel) or book Disneyland Paris tickets and stay in an offsite hotel? I got my calculator out and did the hard work so you don’t have to!

Here’s the answer, based on a trip in the Easter holidays (I used 25/26 March 2026 dates) and for a family of four:

When It’s Better to Book a Disneyland Paris Package

As you can see from the table above, if you’re only planning to spend one day in the park, it is ALWAYS cheaper to stay off site and buy Disneyland Paris tickets from a third party. For two days in the park, I find that booking Disneyland Paris tickets from a third party is usually cheaper, but this is one a case-by-case basis (we find that Disneyland Paris partner hotels are a better standard than their cheapest hotels like the Santa Fe, so prefer to stay off site rather than stay there).

It’s also worth noting that off-site hotels tend to include breakfast, where breakfast is only available for an additional charge in the official on-site Disneyland hotels. Another cost saving to consider.

To be completely transparent, there are times when I recommend booking directly with Disneyland Paris instead of buying tickets separately. And we have regularly stayed on site and booked a Disneyland Paris package ourselves!

Disney packages are usually better value if:

• You want to stay onsite, and don’t want to consider an off-site hotel option
• You’re visiting for 3 days or more
• You want Extra Magic Time (this is an extra hour in the park each morning that is only available to hotel guests and certain annual pass holders)
• You want everything bundled together with minimal planning

For longer stays, the price difference between tickets-only and a package often narrows, and sometimes the package is actually significantly cheaper.

When Ticket-Only Options (Like Klook) Are Best

For our last two trips to Disneyland Paris, we have stayed offsite and then got our tickets from a third party provider. Ticket-only purchases are often the best choice if:

• You’re staying off-site (these tend to be cheaper hotels)
• You’re visiting for 1 or 2 days
• You want flexibility with accommodation
• You’re adding Disneyland Paris onto a wider trip (such as the wider France road trip we took last summer)

Can you buy Disneyland Paris tickets on the day?
Sometimes, but availability isn’t guaranteed, especially in school holidays. Booking in advance is strongly recommended: no one wants to travel all the way to France wearing thir Mickey ears and then be turned away at the door!

Yes. Children aged 3 and over require a ticket. And children aged 12 and over need an adult ticket to enter the park.

For first-time families, 2 parks is usually worth it, even if just for one day. But if you only have the time or budget to visit one park then the main Disneyland Paris castle park is the best park to visit.
