A Complete and Honest Review of The Explorers Hotel, Disneyland Paris (A Disneyland Paris Partner Hotel)
This post was last updated on 28/06/2025 to include the most recent prices and the most up to date hotel information.
I consider myself something of an accidental expert when it comes to the hotels of Disneyland Paris. Why? Because over the last 10 years, we’ve stayed in all of them! And the focus of this piece is the Explorers Hotel, Disneyland Paris.
We’ve stayed in the eye-wateringly expensive Disneyland Hotel (admittedly before its new refurb, so I’m very keen to visit again) and we’ve stayed in the simple B&B chain hotels (which do the job if you’re working with a tight budget).
But our favourite hotel in Disneyland Paris is a mid-range hotel, and one of the partner hotels (rather than an official Disneyland Paris hotel). Enter the Explorers Hotel, Disneyland Paris!

We last stayed here for a single-night stay in August. But we’ve stayed here a dozen times. Our boys are now 12 and 8, but we have been staying at this hotel since the oldest was just a year old. It really does work for all ages! So here’s our full review of the Explorers Hotel in Disneyland Paris, and the reasons why we love it so much:

Booking The Explorers Hotel
Because it is a partner hotel, we always book the Explorers Hotel and our Disneyland Paris park tickets separately. This is the most affordable way of staying at the hotel and means you’re in control of how many days of expensive Disneyland Paris park tickets you need.
Expect to pay around £150 for a single night’s stay during the quieter season, up to around £180 per night during the peak summer season. This is based on a family room for a family of four with two kids.
These rates INCLUDE BREAKFAST – Continental breakfast is always included in the room rate at the Explorers hotel. You can add dinner too if you want to eat your evening meal at the hotel, but most people prefer to eat in the Disney parks or the Disney village.
On our last trip we booked via Expedia because this worked out a little cheaper than booking direct. We also like to book via Expedia because you can book now and pay on arrival, and take advantage of free cancellation too – Ideal if your plans aren’t set in stone.
The Swimming Pool At The Explorers Hotel
The main reason we love to visit the Explorers Hotel is because of its amazing swimming pool. This outshines any of the pools on Disney property!

You’ve got a large fun pool with space for playing a Splashing, a pirate ship themed play feature with water spouts, water guns, and other play features. This also has a slide through it that is suitable for smaller guests.
There’s then a medium sized open slide for slightly bigger kids, and for the thrill seekers there’s a large, enclosed dragon themed slide. It’s a great pool facility, and it opens long hours meaning you can have a swim before your day in the Disney parks or relax and unwind in the pool afterwards

The pool opens from 8am until 11pm (with last entry at 10.30pm). You can use this from the first to the last day of your stay, so if you don’t have Disney park tickets for your arrival or departure day then you can still have a fun and active day with your kids!
The changing rooms are clean, but small. And you don’t even have to stuff a towel in your suitcase! You can hire a pool towel for 2 euros, and then keep it for the full duration of your stay.

The lockers are small (photo above in case you like to see practical details like this like I do!) but you don’t need cash to open/use them (just a passcode) so you can use a couple if you can’t fit all your gear into just one.
The Playgrounds At The Explorers Hotel
There is really only one word for the playgrounds at the Explorers Hotel: Epic! Outside you’ll find an enormous adventure playground. It has all the usual things you’d expect like swings and climbing frames, including a pirate ship climbing frame best suited to younger kids.

But there’s also an enormous play frame with slides as tall as the hotel: in fact it’s so big that even my oldest was apprehensive about going down the biggest one!
During the evening this playground was absolutely packed full of kids. But as you can see from these photos, we went at around 11am after our morning swim and had the whole place to ourselves.

If you’re visiting during the winter months, or if your kids prefer soft play (or even if you want a combination of both!) then the hotel also has a huge 3 storey soft play with slides, ball pond, and other fun features.
As an added bonus, this is located right by the hotel’s bar and pizzeria, so parents can relax and unwind while there children play (if they’ve got the energy after a day in the Disney parks!)
The Food At The Explorers Hotel
Breakfast is included in the room rate at the Explorers Hotel. This is a simple but hearty continental style breakfast. You can get croissants, pain au chocolate (both in miniature form) bread and a selection of spreads and jams.
There’s ham and cheese, fruit, and then 4 different cereals to choose from. To drink you can get tea or coffee, apple juice, or orange juice. This has always been more than enough for us, and we eat our fill!

If you are craving a full English breakfast then you can pay an extra 9.50 euros and you’ll get access to a smaller, separate part of the buffet where they also serve hot options like pancakes, bacon, and eggs (but we’ve never tried it so I can’t comment on the quality sadly!)
In fact, my review of the food is going to fall short, because we’ve never been in the evening restaurant in the hotel either! But what I can recommend are the pizzas from Marcos! Freshly made, stone baked, and blooming delicious!
You can order these and then eat them in the lobby where the bar and soft play are, have a drink and let the kids play. But what we do (because we’re usually exhausted from a day in the parks!) is have a ‘bed picnic’ with our pizzas in our room while we rest our feet and lament the 20,000 steps we walked that day!
The pizzas are delicious. Piping hot, delicious cheese, and loads of toppings. Would recommend!
The Rooms At The Explorers Hotel
So what are the rooms like at the Explorers Hotel? I’ve left this til the end because it’s the least important part for us, but that doesn’t mean the rooms aren’t good! They’re spacious, comfortable, and well themed.

The rooms remind me a little of a simple Premier Inn room, but with plenty of thoughtful additional features. For example, there are loads of English channels on the TV. There are also USB and English plug sockets in the room, so if you forget your plug adapter, you don’t have to worry!
The toilet and bathroom are separate (we love that when we’re 4 in a room! You don’t want someone needing the loo when you’re in the bath!) and the shower was powerful, and piping hot.
Some parts of the room are tired: you can see that a refresh/a little paint might be needed in areas. But this doesn’t detract from the fact that if you want a fun, family-friendly hotel close to Disneyland Paris, you won’t get a better one than this one!
👉 Don’t forget to book the Explorers Hotel before the rooms are sold out
Visiting Disneyland Paris From The Explorers Hotel
The Explorers Hotel is a Disneyland Paris partner hotel. This means that there is a small disney merchandise store on site, and more importantly that the hotel offers a FREE shuttle bus to the Disney parks.
This is convenient and easy to use – it also saves you having to park in the Disneyland Paris car park (which costs a frankly eyewatering 30 euros per day and is best avoided!)
For more comprehensive advice on visiting Disneyland Paris on a budget I recommend reading my post here.

Note: Because the Explorers Hotel isn’t a hotel on the disney property, unless you book a package via the official Disneyland Paris website, your tickets won’t be included in the package. So budget for this accordingly.
On our last stay at the Explorers Hotel we only visited the Disney Park for one day. This was the most affordable option: on our second day we rode the Panoramagique hot air balloon (Review here) and visited the Disney Village.
We always book our tickets via Klook if we don’t have a Disney Package.

Every little helps, and all that!
Have you ever stayed at the Explorers Hotel in Disneyland Paris? What did you think? How do you feel this hotel compares to the other Disneyland Paris hotels? I’d really love to hear if your experience was as positive as mine!

Hello ! I’m kind of surprised by your recommandation on Marco’s Pizza. This review (see link below) and reviews on Google say this opposite. 🤔https://www.touschezmickey.com/en/hotel/explorers-hotel/
Interesting, thanks for sharing that! I can only talk for our experience, but we’ve eaten there 3 times over the years and always really enjoyed the Pizza there!
Hi, would you recommend this hotel if not visiting Disneyland? But visiting Paris for the day instead? We are driving back from the mountains and considering stopping here with a day to explore Paris itself (we visited disney last year so want to skip a year!).
Thanks!
It’s a great hotel for kids (especially with the pools and playgrounds!) but honestly? I wouldn’t! You would have to get the shuttle bus to the station and then take a 30 minute train into central Paris – this hotel is around 45km outside of Paris. The whole journey getting from the hotel to the city would take over an hour. If you were visiting Paris AND Disneyland it might be worth that sacrifice, but if you just want to be in Paris for the day, I would choose a hotel closer to the city.
What is least expensive way to get to this hotel from Charles de gaulle Airport
Hi, thanks for reaching out! The cheapest way is to get the train, but you have to change lines and it can be a pretty slow journey. I would recommend taking the ‘Magic Shuttle’ between Charles De Gaulle and Disneyland Paris, which costs 24 euros for adults and 11 euros for kids. I hope that helps and you have a great trip!
