It’s sometimes the most unexpected gifts that turn out to be the best ones! We got the boys the plastic containers with compartments and filled it with snacks for their first long haul flight – now we refill it every time we fly. And the full face snorkels they got last Christmas have seen so much use this year. Finally, if you’re looking for travel games I couldn’t recommend paying a little more for magnetic ones enough! We’ve had ours years, and you’ll never have to crawl around on the plane floor looking for lost pieces ever again.

It doesn’t matter how old or young your kid is, there’s nothing better for kids who travel than a good activity book! You can do these on the plane, in the hotel room, and when we know there’s going to be a long wait (or if we’re relaxing after dinner) then I ALWAYS have an activity book for the boys in my handbag.

Lightweight, easy to pack, this is an absolute essential for travelling kids! Don’t forget to pack crayons or colouring pencils too!

Practical gifts don’t have to be boring!
