Riding The Panoramagique Hot Air Balloon In Disneyland Paris

Before I turned 40 last year, I created a list of 40 things I wanted to do. And one of them was to ride a hot air balloon.

So before we went to Disneyland Paris for Christmas, Mike got me tickets to ride the Panoramagique hot air balloon in the Disney Village in Disneyland Paris.

Unfortunately, the balloon here is a temperamental beast and doesn’t fly in the wind, the rain, or any other adverse weather conditions. Which means trying to get on it in winter is an absolute bust!

Luckily the tickets are valid for 3 years after you’ve purchased them, so we got to ride on the Panoramagique balloon when we visited Disneyland Paris last month.

Tickets to ride the balloon cost 19 euros per adult or 14 euros for children aged between 3-11 if you book online. Prices are 20 euros/15 euros if you try to book on the day. Children under the age of 3 fly for free.

The balloon goes up to heights of 100 metres and on a clear day you can see all the way into Paris.

You also get an amazing view over the 2 Disney parks. We flew during the day (as you can see from the photos) but I think it would look especially cool lit up at night.

The flight only lasts around 6-7 minutes, so it does feel like its over pretty quickly, but I am glad we did it. It was the perfect way to break up our second day (because we didn’t have park tickets) and see the disney parks from a whole new perspective. We then went to Annette’s for lunch – yum!

The only slight irritation? They had a photographer taking photos of you in front of the balloon and then trying to sell them to you at the end of your ride – I hate this kind of upselling, and find it annoying! (surely that’s not just me?)

You can fly from 9 am -11 pm in theory, but I really do recommend you check if you balloon is flying before you head to the attraction. It doesn’t fly as often as it does! You can do that and find out more about the Panoramagique balloon here.
