Merry Christmas from our Travelling Family to Yours

Merry Christmas From Our Travelling Family To Yours

Nothing makes you feel cosy and reflective quite like Christmas. As the year draws to a close and the fairy lights in our living room twinkle a little brighter, I wanted to take some time out to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone of you whose read, shared, or commented on That Mum Travel Life this year.

The site has grown massively this year. When I started this blog, it was simply a way to record our family adventures and help other parents feel confident exploring the world with kids in tow. I never could have imagined that our stories, and the cheesy photos of us having fun with our boys, would reach tens of thousands of families every month – from those of you who found me when you were planning your first-time trips to Disneyland Paris to those heading off on dream adventures across Japan.

Your messages, questions, and kind words have truly meant the world to us. And if you can’t say thank you at Christmas, when can you?

Our Year in Travel

This year has been such a busy year for us! We started off the year with a trip to Naples, where we explored Pompeii and cemented our family passion for history, and seeking out historical adventures as we travel.

For our next stop, we went to South Korea for the first time, where we fell in love with the delicious street food and the welcoming people.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream to visit the DMZ is something that i’ll never forget, and i’ll never stop being grateful to Mike and my boys for going along with my crazy dreams and being laid back enough to try anything!

Then we took another trip to Japan, which cemented that this really is our favourite place in the whole world.

I took a trip to Morocco with my girlfriends (my first time in the country), and the shopping here was as phenomenal as the architecture. I’m planning to go back with a bigger luggage allowance to upgrade all the stoneware in my kitchen!

The Arc du Triomphe in Montpellier

In the summer, we took a road trip through France, visiting the South of France for the very first time as a family. We managed to explore 5 different cities in our two weeks in France, and the beaches were every bit as beautiful as they look on social media.

We’ve had lots of wonderful adventures closer to home too. Discovering hidden corners of Norfolk, exploring the museums and Christmas markets in London, and visiting festive cities across the UK that look like they’ve comes straight out of a storybook.

Every trip we take, whether big or small, reminds us why we love to travel together. It’s not about the perfect photos or the itineraries (which inevitably go wrong anyway!) It’s the laughs, the quality time, the feeling that we’re all in it together, and the memories we make together that will stay long after we get home.

Looking Ahead To 2026

Next year is already shaping up to be another exciting one! We’ll be returning to Japan for a month-long adventure (our longest trip to date), and we’re so excited to be collaborating with some incredible partners on the trip, including Universal Studios Japan and Sanrio Puroland. I can’t wait to do all the hard work so you don’t have to, bring you fresh insider tips and exclusive family travel insights.

We’ll also be exploring a few new destinations (stay tuned for those surprises!) and continuing to share our honest reviews, family itineraries, and tried-and-tested travel hacks that make exploring the world with kids just a little bit easier!
