Fun Travel Activities For Kids – From Our Family Adventures!
If you’re here then it’s probably because you’re travelling with your kids. You might be seasoned adventurers who take everything in your stride, or you might be new to family travel and feeling a bit nervous about those long flights with your kids in tow.
We started travelling when our boys were babies. In fact, our youngest monster went on his first adventure when he was just six weeks old. As the boys grew so did our approach to family travel, and the lengths of the journeys we were happy to take.
When they hit primary school we started adding long haul flights into the mix, and now there’s nowhere in the world our boys would rather go than Asia. As well as adding longer flights and more adventurous destinations, we also added more travel tools to our armory.
So what do I ALWAYS take when we travel? I’m a HUGE fan of fidget toys, of Tupperware tubs full of Lego figures and Lego bricks, and of activity books.
The boys are aged 9 and 12 now, but we still carry all of these things, including at least one activity and colouring book each on every single trip we take. These keep them occupied on planes, trains, in restaurants where the service is slow, and on quiet afternoons.
And that’s why I decided to create a collection of colouring and activity books of my own!
That Mum Travel Life – Travel Colouring And Activity Books
So far there are three travel colouring and activity books in the collection. These are inspired by our own favourite travel destinations (and each book has been tried and tested, and more importantly approved, by the boys!)

These books have been designed by travelling parents (us!) and they aren’t just simple colouring books – because not all kids (including mine) love to colour. So we also added mazes, puzzles, and drawing activities. We wanted there to be something to appeal to everyone, and bust boredom for every travelling kid!
We’ve also added some simple fun facts and local knowledge into each book, so as well as having fun, your kids will learn something about their destination too. The colouring and activity books are educational, but never boring!
Lightweight, no batteries required, and no overstimulation. Just good old-fashioned fun that your kids can pull out anywhere and everywhere they go.
