These Are The Top 15 Most Inspirational Places In The World To Visit. How Many Have You Visited?

There are so many cities I consider to be inspiring (in fact, I’m visiting one right now – this piece is being published while we’re exploring Tokyo) and for so many different reasons.

Hello London! Sign in Covent Garden

I can be inspired by food, by architecture, especially by people. My favourite cities are often the ones where I encounter kind and welcoming people who really give you an insight into what it’s like to live like a local. Which means cities other people might not think to visit are ones that I think of most fondly.

Most cities have fascinating art galleries or great local museums. Even in cities that weren’t my favourite, I can single out attractions well worth visiting. But the biggest cities are usually the most exciting ones to explore.

I know that over tourism is a real problem, but despite this I do understand why the same cities appear on these ‘must visit’ lists again and again: they’re popular because they’re places people should visit! For that reason I often take listicles with a pinch of salt (even though I really love reading listicles).

So when this press release landed in my inbox I thought it would be fun to share! (I’ve been sharing a few press releases with you guys while we’re away travelling).

These cities are considered the top 15 most inspiration places in the world to visit. And as an added bonus. i’ve highlighted all the ones i’ve already visited:

1. Barcelona, Spain

    2. London, England

    3. Anchorage, United States

    4. Las Vegas, United States

    5. New York, United States

    6. Paris, France

    7. Tokyo, Japan

    8. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

    9. Reykjavik, Iceland

    10. Melbourne, Australia

    11. Moscow, Russia

    12. York, England

    13. Montreal, Canada

    14. Rome, Italy

    15. Copenhagen, Denmark

This information was gathered by a  new report by Superside who used the number of museums with 4-star+ rating, the average Google review score for each city’s top 5 attractions, and how many reviews mentioned design, creativity, and friendliness on a weighted scale to determine that these are the 15 most inspiring cities in the world.

I love list articles like this because I love getting inspiration for our next adventures but, more importantly, I love checking out how many places on the list we’ve visited! I’ve only been to 7 of these 15 cities which means we’ve got a lot more travelling to do (or at least that’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it!)

So how many of these places have you visited? I’d love for you to let me know in the comment section below!
