Norwich Easter Activities 2025. Free Events Or Affordable Events With Kids
I will start this post with a disclaimer: we won’t actually be in Norwich this Easter! We’re going to be away travelling for the whole of the long Easter holidays. But if we weren’t travelling then there’s nowhere we’d rather be than Norwich, which always has such a fun and festive atmosphere at Easter and for all of the holiday periods really. We love the city that we call home.
What I do know (whether you’re at home or away) is that the school holidays can be expensive, and keeping kids occupied can be exhausting.
So I thought I would put all of the free Easter activities as well as some budget and affordable Easter activities in Norwich and wider Norfolk for Easter 2025 in one place, so that when you’re at the end of your tether (and wondering whether it’s OK to send your kids to the park alone for a couple of hours peace!) you’ve got some easy ideas in your back pocket.

Chantry Place The Great Eggscape from Easter Island
8th-9th & 15th-16th April, 10am – 4pm. Free Event
The naughty Easter chicks have stolen the Easter Bunny’s precious eggs and hidden them on the mysterious Easter Island. It’s up to YOU to crack the code, get crafty and help the Easter Bunny reclaim what’s rightfully his. This event combines puzzle solving, codes, and even making clay models, so there’s a bit of something for everyone here.
Sessions run every hour from 10am – 4pm on the 4 days that the event is running. This is suitable for kids age 3-10 but it’s worth noting there are only 24 spaces per session AND these can’t be pre-booked. You have to turn up on the day to book your spot.

Norwich Cathedral Easter Family Event
10th April, 10am – 2pm. Free Event.
I love Norwich Cathedral, it’s such an inspiring and beautiful building. And because it’s what Easter is all about, Families are invited to visit the cathedral for a free day of crafts, games and activities based on the Easter story. The activities are aimed at primary school-aged children, so this wouldn’t work if you have kids that straddle primary and secondary school like me!

Easter Egg-stravaganza Community Day Hosted By EACH
Saturday 12th April, 11am – 2pm. Free Event.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) are hosting a community day at The Nook, near Norwich. Visitors have the chance to hunt for chocolate, enjoy live music and a petting zoo. There will also be stalls, refreshments, live music and face-painting available.

John Lewis Kids Easter Decoration Crafting Event
Saturday 12th April (2 sessions available at 1.45pm and 2.30pm)
You’ll need to be a MyJohnLewis member to book this event (but if you’re not already, signing up is free and only takes a few minutes. Then you can head to the store for an Easter craft class, where your little one can get creative and personalise a decoration that can be hung in the home or on your Easter tree. This workshop is designed for children aged 3+ with adult supervision. Tickets are free and include complimentary materials. At the end of the event, kids can take their decorations home with them.

NANSA Easter Stay and Play
Tuesday 15th April, 10am – 12pm. Free Event.
NANSA are hosting a free morning at the Nansa Family Centre for families with SEN children under 12 years. Sounds like there will be loads of fun activities available including activities, games, and crafts including pottery painting.

Hoveton Hall Easter Treasure Quest and Egg Hunt
Friday 18th -Monday 21st April, 10.30 – 5pm. Free with the price of admission (which is £10 for adults, £5 for kids, and under 5s go free)
This is a good choice if you have different aged kids as there are two activities available depending on what they would enjoy most. Either they can find clues to answer a puzzle and win an Easter Egg prize, or for smaller children there is an Easter Egg hunt taking place in the walled garden. This is a lovely choice for a sunny day (fingers crossed Easter has plenty of those!)

City of Norwich Aviation Museum Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday 20th April, 10am – 5pm. Cost – £3.50 per egg hunt ticket (plus standard admission charge).
I love a good Easter Egg hunt (which is why you’ll find more than one of them on this list!) And if your kid also loves planes or transportation then this is a great hunt to choose. You’ll gather clues that you find in the museum and in the aircraft themselves, and when you’ve cracked the code you’ll be given your prize of an Easter Egg.

Sonic’s Easter Extravaganza
Thursday 10th April, 5pm – 7pm. Cost – £16.50 per child
This is one of the pricier events on the list but you do get quite a lot included for your money, so I thought it was worth adding to the list. Hosted in the SuperBowl soft play in Castle Mall, this two hour event includes a Soft Play session, a kids meal (this is the usual kids fare of chicken nuggets or burger and chips), Party Dance show, Meet & Greet with Sonic the Hedgehog, and a Gift from Sonic too.

Norfolk Tank Museum Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday 19th April, 11am – 3pm. Adults £9.50, Under 8s free.
As well as enjoying all the vehicles that the museum has to offer, this will be a fun event packed full of activities. There will be 2 different egg hunt sessions (one for kids under 8 and one for kids over 8) as well as Easter Arts and Crafts. You can make an Easter Bonnet, paper basket, or bunny face mask. Meaning this is a great choice for crafty kids!

Easter Egg Hunt in Sadler’s Wood
Tuesday 15th April from 9am. Kids tickets are £5 with adults going free.
This is one of those lovely outdoor activities I describe as ‘good old fashioned fun’ and great for active kids that need to run around to get their energy out! The Easter Bunny has hidden twelve large eggs around the woods. Each egg belongs to a different animal. Can you find all the eggs?
