We’re going back to Japan next year (I can’t help starting posts like that because it’s so exciting!) and we will be spending one day in Tokyo Disneyland and one day in Tokyo DisneySea… again.
Planning a trip to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea is one of the most exciting parts of visiting Japan with kids. Especially if your kids are big Disney fans like mine: the chance to visit Tokyo DisneySea is one of their highlights of being in Tokyo, and they definitely weren’t going to let us get away with not booking another trip! They want to meet Duffy Bear, ride Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and eat all the Alien Mochi!

But one of the biggest questions families have is: how far in advance can you book Tokyo Disney tickets? Even I have to double-check this (and this will be our 4th visit!) because different activities (including theme parks, museums, and even restaurants) in Japan have different booking windows. Starting from about 3 months before we travel to Japan, I seem to have something different to book every month!
⏰ You can read my other post about when to book Japan’s top attractions here
In this post, I’ll break down the official Tokyo Disney booking windows, give you some insider tips, and share the best way to actually secure your tickets — without the stress. Here’s everything you need to know about how far in advance you can book Tokyo Disney tickets!

How Far in Advance Can You Book Tokyo Disney Tickets?
It doesn’t matter where you book your tickets: whether you use the official Disney website or whether you book through Klook or other authorised sellers. ALL tickets for the Tokyo Disneyland Paris can be booked 2 months (60 days) in advance.
So if you want to book tickets for the 3rd October, you will need to book these on the 3rd August, for example. We are visiting on March 26th and March 27th, so I will be booking my first ticket on January 26th and my second on Janaury 27th.

This is the official window, but tickets often sell out quickly for weekends, public holidays, and special events. For this reason we ALWAYS book our tickets exactly 60 days before we plan to visit the park: it would be awful to have a Disney day booked into our itinerary (which we generally start sketching out 6 months in advance) and then not be able to go because tickets have sold out.
Pro tip: Tickets for peak seasons — like cherry blossom season, Golden Week, summer holidays, Halloween, and Christmas — can sell out within days. So even if planning ahead doesn’t come as naturally to you as it does to me (I’m a type A planner, much to the frustration of my family!) I still advice that if you’re visiting at these times, book as soon as your window opens.

Why Book Through Klook?
We always book our Tokyo Disney tickets through Klook (I’m not just saying that because I’m a Klook affiliate, although I do save money by using the same discount code I share with you guys!) We’ve personally used Klook for all of our Japan trips to date and it has made things much simpler, especially when travelling with kids.

Some of the reasons we choose to book with Klook instead of with Disney direct are:
Instant confirmation and mobile e-tickets — no need to queue at the gate, and we even added our tickets to the Tokyo Disneyland App in advance, which saves loads of time on the day.
Option to bundle tickets with extras like airport transfers, SIM cards, or Tokyo activities. (My code will give you 5% off all of these extras and attractions too)
We can pay easily with our UK (Or USA) debit/credit card (we did try to use the official Disney site on our first trip, and the Japanese Disney website didn’t like our British card, so it kept kicking us out when we got to the payment page – it was super frustrating!)

Do You Really Need to Book in Advance?
In short: Yes. Same-day tickets are rarely available for Tokyo Disneyland anymore, and would you want to take that chance, risking disappointment?
If you’re booking a last minute trip then you can still get those tickets books much closer than that 60 day window if you want to go on a weekday, or if you’re not travelling during the peak season (so don’t panic if you’re reading this much closer to your trip!) But with demand so high, especially for Tokyo DisneySea’s unique attractions (like the brand-new Fantasy Springs area which we were so lucky to enjoy on our last trip), I do advice advance booking for your own peace of mind.

How to Plan Your Disney Day
I’ve written SO MANY posts about Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, so i’ll list some of them here to give you extra reading, and to help you plan the perfect Disney Day. We always approach our days in the Tokyo Disney Parks with some kind of a game plan (knowing which rides we want to hit first, or which we’re going to try and get premier access passes for, for example) and this really helps us to make the most of our day.
