Discover a New Star Wars Lounge at Disneyland Paris This Summer

Two things my family love? Disneyland and Star Wars. Our travel plans this summer involve our annual road trip across France (with the surf boards strapped to the roof of the car) and we were planning on spending a day at Disneyland Paris on the way.

So I was really excited to read the news that Disneyland Paris were opening a new seasonal Star Wars themed lounge in the main Disneyland Paris park this summer, and thought I would share all the details with you guys!

What Is The New Lounge Called?

The new lounge is called Lounge Lightspeed and it was be located in the very small Star Wars area of the Disneyland Paris park, in Discovery Land.

Other Star Wars attractions here are the Hyper Space Mountain and Star Tours rides, the Darth Vader meet and greet, the Star Tours shop (photos of the boys with their merchandise from here below), and a small food stand which sells Star Wars themed snacks.

Lounge Lightspeed will be located on the roof terrace of the building that hosts the Darth Vader meet and greet. This whole area is pretty small, but it’s a great chance for Star Wars fans to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe.

Will Lounge Lightspeed Be A Restaurant?

No, this won’t be a full Star Wars themed restaurant. Instead it will be a lounge offering drinks and small themed snacks.

It’s worth noting that this lounge will be small too. It will only have capacity for around 50 guests, and the lounge will be outside on the roof terrace, so this won’t be a fun place to visit in bad weather (perhaps why it’s just a seasonal summer opening!) But I think it will be a great place to relax and unwind in the park in the summer, offering great views of the Star Wars details, including a unique perspective of the famous X Wing plane.

When Can You Visit Lounge Lightspeed?

Lounge Lightspeed will be hosted by Coca-Cola and open from 1pm to 10pm until 17 September 2025. What we don’t yet know is whether you can just walk straight in or whether reservations will be needed. But what we do know is that, with Coca-Cola as the sponsor, fun Coca-Cola themed drinks will be served!

Another detail that will make Lounge Lightspeed well worth visiting (in fact this is the main reason it’s on my family’s ‘must-do’ list) is that you can mingle with BDX-Droids and can also spot smaller droid awaiting reprogramming, enhancing the connection to Star Tours.

The concept is that the story of the lounge will link to the  Star Tours: the Adventures Continues attraction, allowing galactic travellers a place to stop and rest before their onwards space journey.

I think its a really cool idea, and its about time there was a Star Wars refreshment space (albeit a small one) in this part of the park. We once visited Disneyland Paris for May 4th (Star Wars day) and they had all the characters out, which drew an enormous crowd: there’s clearly a market for this.

We all know how HUGE the Star Wars franchise is, so perhaps if this is a success it could lead to a greater expansion of the Star Wars area, with more characters, dining experiences, and attractions.

Getting Tickets To Disneyland Paris?

Want to save money on your Disneyland Paris tickets? I have to pop a quick link to my Klook affiliate tickets here!

Klook offer instant confirmation & free cancellations (3 days in advance) exclusively for dated tickets, so they’re a great choice if your plans might change. Use code THATMUMTRAVEL5KLOOK to get an additional 5% off ticket prices too.

You can buy tickets for 1, 2, 3 of 4 days depending on the duration of your stay: Click here for prices and options. We tend to opt for 1 day tickets, especially while the Walt Disney Studios park is under renovation, and isn’t (in my opinion at least) worth visiting right now! We then stay in an off-site hotel and save an absolute fortune!

We’re visiting Disneyland Paris in August, so i’ll definitely be reporting back about the new Lounge Lightspeed. Do you have any plans to visit Disneyland Paris this year? And what do you think about this new lounge? Is this something you’d like to see more of, or are you not really fans of the Star Wars universe?

  1. This sounds galactically awesome! A rooftop Star Wars lounge with droids, themed snacks, and a view of the X-Wing? Count me in! Love the idea of Lounge Lightspeed as a pitstop for space travelers—just hoping the Force (and the weather) is with us when we go 😄.
