These Are The Top 5 Trending Honeymoon Destinations For 2025
It’s been 14 years since we went on our honeymoon. As you can tell by how old and grainy the images are!

4 house moves, two kids, one dog, and endless holidays later and I still have amazing memories of being just-married and exploring Egypt together.
Mike and I are both self-confessed history buffs. So of course our honeymoon involved exploring the Egyptian museum in Cairo and floating down the Nile (as well as the more traditional snorkelling in the Egyptian Riviera). We rode camels, and were harassed by touts at the pyramids (which weirdly, are so close to the city that you can see a Mcdonalds from them!) then got evacuated from our snorkelling tour in the Red Sea because the captain of our boat saw a shark. It was such an adventure.
And it was the perfect honeymoon for us, and that’s what it’s all about really isn’t it? Finding something that you love and are passionate about together.

But where would we go on honeymoon if we were planning it in 2025? Well according to luxury travel specialist Kuoni, the most sought-after honeymoon hotspots are destinations that offer seclusion, paradise views, and an escape from reality.
Here’s there list of the top 5 honeymoon spots for 2025 as well as my thoughts!
1. Seychelles
The Seychelles has long been an idyllic destination for a holiday, but thanks to a 125% surge in Google searches as well as an 86% increase in bookings with Kuoni, it’s made its way onto the honeymoon bucket lists of engaged couples worldwide this year, as well as being named their most sought-after honeymoon spot of 2025. The archipelago is well-known for boasting pristine and unspoiled beaches, and with the islands themselves dating back over 750 million years, as well as the strikingly blue waters being home to over 1,000 species of fish and beautiful coral reefs – the Seychelles are truly a paradise for newlyweds.

I’ll admit that we have a bucket list a mile long of places that we’d like to take the boys, but the Seychelles doesn’t feature. Perhaps because of its reputation of luxury and romance? But that would make it a great honeymoon spot!
2. Mauritius
Kuoni’s internal booking data shows Mauritius remains one of the most frequently booked honeymoon destinations, which when combined with an impressive 4,000 monthly Google searches for honeymoons secures its spot as the second most sought-after location for post-nuptial celebrations this year. Whether it’s lounging in a high-end hotel, sampling the fresh local seafood or taking part in thrilling water sports, scenic hiking or sunset cruises, Mauritius offers no end of opportunities for relaxation or adventure for those kicking off married life.
3. Italy
Italy is one of the world’s classic romantic getaway destinations, with a rich cultural tapestry running through its cities and villages, world-class cuisine and an enchanting coastline to travel along. Kuoni’s internal bookings data show an impressive 122% increase year-on-year for honeymoons in the mediterranean country, landing it firmly in third place. Whether it’s the rolling hills of Tuscany, romantic canals of Venice or the ancient ruins of Rome, couples travelling to Italy for their honeymoon will certainly feel loved up while they explore the country.

Although Italy may have a reputation for romance, it’s also one of the most family-friendly destinations in Europe. Italians LOVE kids and they’re welcome everywhere. This is a country we definitely want to see more of with the boys.
4. Thailand
Thailand secures its spot in the top five thanks to ranking as one of Kuoni’s most booked honeymoon destinations this year, alongside an impressive 6,600 monthly Google searches.
A true tropical paradise, Thailand is a haven for foodies and market-lovers, while its world-famous beaches offer no end of Instagram, relaxation and swimming opportunities too. With the current season of The White Lotus filmed in Koh Samui, the country is surely set to see an influx of more visitors in the coming years – much like Taormina in Sicily which saw a 50% increase in searches following the very successful season two.

Thailand is ridiculously high up on our bucket list! We want to visit both Thailand and Vietnam, and have already started doing some tentative flight price research (despite having not seen The White Lotus yet) so it’s interesting to see this destination appeear on the list.
5. Sri Lanka
Another Indian Ocean gem, Sri Lanka completes Kuoni’s top five trending honeymoon destinations for 2025, scoring so highly due to a 50% rise in bookings, as well as a 21% increase in Google searches year-on-year. From the golden southern beaches where loved up newlyweds can sip on coconuts, sunbathe, or surf, to the lush tea plantations or elephant dotted national parks, Sri Lanka is an excellent honeymoon destination which offers the perfect blend of cultural immersion, relaxation and adventure.
Sri Lanka is another place I’ve always wanted to visit, largely because I’ve always wanted to visit one of the many famous elephant sanctuaries here. Perhaps it’s time to organise another honeymoon?!
I love the honeymoon concept and honeymoon stories. So I’d love to know: where did you go on your honeymoon? Would you recommend it? Would you go back and if you could do it again, where would you go instead?
