UPDATED for 2025 with new event information and new seasonal packages.
Disneyland Paris is a magical place no matter what time of year you visit. But by far the most magical time of year to in Disneyland Paris is at Christmas!
Snow on Main Street, Christmas music piped everywhere you go, and characters dressed in their Christmas finery. It’s the ultimate winter wonderland. Disneyland Paris at Christmas is one of my favourite places to be! Thinking of visiting Euro Disney at Christmas and looking for tips and ideas? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Last Christmas we spent Christmas Eve in the main Disneyland Paris park followed by Christmas day in Disney Studios. This was as part of a larger 5 night stay in the Villages Nature Paris resort where we swam, relaxed, and explored the playgrounds. It was just what we needed, and the kids said “best Christmas ever!” It also wasn’t the first time we’ve visited Disneyland Paris at Christmas – we’re park regulars!
We love our Christmas Disneyland Paris experiences. The weather is cold but the welcome is warm! One of the things that Disneyland Paris is often criticised for is that the staff aren’t as friendly as their American counterparts, but everyone was certainly full of the joy of the season on this trip.
If you’re looking for the most festive spirit then you need to be in the Disneyland Paris – things felt a little more ‘business as usual’ in the Studios park, but it was still the perfect place to be on Christmas day for our Marvel mad kids.

The Price of Visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas
Disneyland Paris could never be called a cheap place to visit, but it is much cheaper to visit at Christmas than it is in the summer, or even during other holidays such as Halloween.
What we paid last year won’t help you plan a trip now, so I looked at how much a 2 night stay would cost a family of 4 this Christmas from 24th December to 26th December. This is based on figures I found on 22/06/2025.

For a 2 night stay you will get 3 days of park tickets, which gives you longer in the park than we had! The cheapest hotel to stay in is the Disney Hotel Santa Fe which will cost £1,770 for a family of 4 (where both children are aged over 3). This price DOESN’T include transportation costs.
While the price of visiting other places increases significantly during the Christmas holidays, this isn’t true of Disneyland Paris. The summer holidays and in particular Halloween (where prices really skyrocket) can be much more expensive. So if you want to go away for Christmas this makes it a great choice.
Visiting Disneyland Paris On A Budget
Sound a little pricey? If you want to visit Disneyland Paris at Christmas on a budget, there are definitely ways to do this! Firstly, stay off site in one of the many offsite hotels (We heartily recommend the Explorers Hotel) and then book day tickets separately!
🧙♂️You can read our full review of the Explorers Hotel here!
We only spent 2 days in the park on our last Christmas visit. You could easily spend just one day in the park to cut the costs even more: we did this last summer, then spent our second day swimming in the hotel pool, shopping and eating lunch in the Disney village, and taking a balloon ride in the Panoramagique balloon. It makes sense that the fewer days you spend in the park, the cheaper your trip will be.
So for the best budget trip to Disneyland Paris at Christmas, stay in an off site hotel, book a single (extra magical) Disney day, then spend a second day exploring the many other attractions that the area has to offer. This could help to cut your costs in half!

I also recommend driving and taking the ferry or the Eurotunnel. This is much cheaper than flying, especially if you’re a bigger family. Want to visit Disneyland Paris in the summer on a budget? I’ve written an article all about this which you can read here.
The Seasonal Extras
If you’ve visited Disneyland Paris before, then seeing it all dressed up for Christmas gives the park a whole new feel. The huge Christmas trees, the lights down Main Street, there are Christmas decorations everywhere you turn.

This year the Enchanted Christmas season in Disneyland Paris runs from 8 November 2025 to 6 January 2026.
This years seasonal activities haven’t been revealed yet. But based on last year’s offers, the seasonal extras that you can expect to find at Disneyland Paris this Christmas include the dazzling Christmas parade, which takes place twice a day. There’s also a ‘Let’s Sing Christmas!’ musical show and a daily tree lighting ceremony with Mickey and Minnie.
The night time parade that lights up the castle at the rest of the year will become a Christmas themed Electrical Sky Parade.

The Disney characters will be dressed up in their festive finery. And if you visit before Christmas day you can even meet Santa – after that he has to fly off for a very important mission!
The Santa meet and greet takes place in Mickey’s house, and the queue is often long, so arrive early.
Finally, you can enjoy Les Chalets Gourmands which are chalets selling Christmassy treats in the park and in the Disney village, and you’ll also find Christmas dishes and upgrades added to the regular menus in your favourite Disney restaurants too.

Things To Think About Before Visiting Disneyland Paris At Christmas
Disneyland Paris at Christmas is certainly magical. But it’s important to acknowledge that you will be visiting an icy cold country in the middle of winter, so it’s important to be prepared.

Even if the temperatures, objectively, don’t seem that low, when you’re outside nonstop for upwards of 12 hours the cold seems to get into your bones. And in the morning and evenings, the temperate drops considerably.
For that reason, I recommend being prepared! We were all wearing thermal trousers and long-sleeved tops under our clothes: layering means if it does warm up in the afternoon, you have options. Hats, scarves, and gloves were all essentials (we found Christmas ones to embrace the fun!)
Hand warmers were also a godsend for the evening mornings of Extra Magic Hours: my husband even tucked them in his socks!
I’ve popped our full cold weather Disney essentials packing list below:
- Thermal base layers (We got merino wool ones from Go Outdoors but you can find similar here)
- Thermal socks (We always use cosy merino wool ones like these)
- Disposable handwarmers (we carried these in our backpack so we had them when we needed them)
- Ski gloves (these are thicker and will keep your hands warmer than wool gloves. They’ll also stay drier if the weather doesn’t go your way). The boys wore these ones.
- Mickey Mouse Santa Hats (Ok so these aren’t essentials but they are cool, and you can get them here!)
- Winter boots. Choose boots with grippy soles rather than fashion boots, because the floors in Disneyland Paris can be slippery when wet.
- Light up necklaces/accessories. If you spend the full day in the park at Christmas then a lot of your time will be in the dark! People put fairy lights around their kids and buggies to stop them getting lost. We used these light up Christmas tree necklaces: they do sell Disney ones in the parks, but they’re pretty pricey!
And for those of you that asked! Another non-essential, but here’s the link to my Loungefly Mickey Mouse wreath bag.

The temperatures also mean that not everything is guaranteed to be operational. We had tickets to ride the Panoramagique balloon over our 5 day stay, and the balloon didn’t fly for a single day of our trip, for example.
Ice and snow can also impact the outdoor rides, particularly the thrill rides, inside the park. This could happen in December although the only time we have experienced weather-related ride closures in the park was during a bitterly cold February trip.

The Crowd Levels In Disneyland Paris At Christmas
One of the main questions that people ask me when I talk about visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas is ‘Is Disneyland Paris crowded at Christmas?’ The short answer to this question is…not really!
In France people celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve: this is when they tend to exchange their Christmas gifts and eat their main Christmas meal.
This means that on the afternoon of Christmas Eve the Disney Park feels pretty quiet. In fact, your more likely to hear an English voice on Christmas Eve in Disneyland Paris than a French one!

We found that Christmas day was busier than Christmas eve in general, although the first couple of hours of the day were quiet (no doubt because the Brits were in their hotel rooms opening their presents).
All in all though the park wasn’t unbearably busy on either day: we found that the busiest time of year that we have visited Disneyland Paris was Halloween, followed by the beginning of the summer holidays I’m not going to say Christmas was quiet, and i’m sure in the days building up to Christmas eve it can be unbearable. But on the 24th and 25th December, we didn’t find it too crowded at all!
Disneyland Paris Ride Closures For Christmas 2025
Throughout the year, Disneyland Paris closes different rides at intervals. This is important for essential maintenance, and as a general rule means that if you visit Disneyland Paris more than once, you’ll see that different rides are closed, giving you a different experience every time.
Disneyland Paris attraction closures are usually released around 3 months in advance. So i’ll post the Disneyland Paris ride closures for Christmas 2025 here as soon as they’re released.
🎄 This wasn’t our first Christmas-season trip to Disneyland Paris. I wrote about our last trip (which took place just before the Covid shut downs) and you can read that here.
Would you consider visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas? Or have you visited Disneyland Paris at Christmas and how did you find it? I’d love to know what you thought!
