Want to visit Disneyland Paris while the crowd levels are low and the sun is shining? Then you should consider visiting Disneyland Paris in September! Before our boys started school, September stood out as our FAVOURITE month to visit Disneyland Paris!
The kids from every European country are back in school, but the sun is still shining and the weather is generally warm. September is Disneyland Paris’ perfect sweet spot where you get good weather AND low crowd levels. If you’re kids aren’t tied to a school calendar yet then this is the perfect time to visit.

Why Visit Disneyland Paris in September
There are so many great reasons to choose September for your trip to Disneyland Paris! I’ve popped this in my order of importance below:
- Lower Crowd Levels. Once the school summer holidays across Europe finish (typically in the first week of September), crowd levels in Disneyland Paris drop through the floor! You’ll find that the parks are amongst their quietest in mid-September. (The only period we’ve visited that is as quiet as September is January and February, but those months are bitterly cold)
- Cheaper Prices. When crowd levels drop, so do prices. You’ll find that hotel prices are typically a little lower in September, particularly when compared to peak August or Halloween prices.
- Milder Weather. Disneyland Paris is scorching hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. But the weather in September is just right: warm and sunny without being unbearably hot.

Booking Tickets For Disneyland Paris In September
I ALWAYS recommend booking your Disneyland Paris tickets in advance. Please don’t risk buying them on the gate: not only are the on the gate prices much more expensive, there’s also no guarantee that tickets will still be available. Back when we were Disneyland Paris annual pass holders, we saw a family being turned away at the gate: one of the kids was crying and it broke my heart. So I don’t care how or where you buy your tickets, just BUY THEM IN ADVANCE.

If you’re planning a Disney holiday over several days then the best way to book this is directly with Disneyland Paris via their website. But these packages tend to be a little too expensive for our family!
We tend to book our offsite hotel and tickets separately to save those £££. If you’re staying off site and just want tickets for a day or two then we always book via Klook. These are great value, and delivered instantly, straight to your phone!

Weather and What To Pack For Disneyland Paris in September
The weather is one of the reasons we love visiting Disneyland Paris in September – like baby bear and his porridge, it’s just right! The average temperatures range from 12 degrees (night temperature) to 21 degrees (day temperature). But it can feel warmer when the sun is shining, and some years temperatures far exceed the average.
We typically wear our summer clothes in Disneyland Paris in September (think shorts and t shirts with a Mickey Mouse motif) but we also pack light layers because the early mornings and late evenings can be chilly. Hoodies and light jackets are your friends here!
Because France is our closest neighbour, the weather in France can be as changeable as it is here in the UK. For this reason, I recommend you pack a poncho or rain jacket in case of an unexpected rain shower.
Finally, pack comfortable shoes! Theme park days are long, and comfort is key!
Disneyland Paris Ride Closures In September 2025
Throughout the year, Disneyland Paris closes different rides at intervals. This is important for essential maintenance, and as a general rule means that if you visit Disneyland Paris more than once, you’ll see that different rides are closed, giving you a different experience every time. No single month is better or worse than another in terms of ride closures (it just depends if there are any rides you really don’t want to miss!)

The Disneyland Paris ride closures for September 2025 are:
- Hyperspace Mountain: 1st and 2nd of September 2025
- Peter Pans Flight: 1st to 19th September 2025
- Mad Hatter Teacups: 22nd September to 3rd October 2025
- Indian Jones: 22nd September to 3rd October 2025
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast: closed from 23rd June until end of 2025
- Thunder Mesa Riverboat: 6th of January to unknown (no official reopening date available at time of writing)

Top Tips For Disneyland Paris September Visitors
Think September is the right time for your Disneyland Paris adventure? Here are our top tips:
- Book tickets and hotels early. Even though September is a quieter period, the best deals can still get snapped up. We book our tickets via Klook and we LOVE the offsite Explorers Pirate Hotel. You can read our full review of this hotel here.
- Take advantage of shorter queue times. You’ll find the queue times are shorter in September than in other months, but there are still tips for taking advantage of this. Do your favourite/the most popular rides earlier and later in the day when queue times are shorter.
- Plan dining in advance. If you want to do any character dining then book this before you arrive: it books out year-round. For other dining, check and book in advance because some restaurants reduce their hours, or even close, outside of the peak season.
- Enjoy seasonal snacks. Often the special event treats and snacks outlive the events they’re promoting. At the beginning of the month you can try the summer specials, and you’ll see Halloween themed food and drink start to appear at the end of September.

How Does September Compare To Other Months?
We like visiting Disneyland Paris in September because it sits, like an oasis of calm, between two much more busy and crowded periods. Summer and Halloween are peak periods in Disneyland Paris, with the summer seasonal events ending at the beginning of September and the Halloween period starting on 6th October.

I believe that, when compared to other seasons and especially these busy seasons, visiting Disneyland Paris in September is best for families that don’t want chaos. Families with young children that don’t want to queue (and don’t have to be in school), families that think the Disney magic is enough and don’t need any special shows or events.

It’s the perfect time to take a first trip to Disneyland Paris and it works really well if you don’t enjoy extremes in weather and temperature too. In terms of crowd levels, the only other months that are similar to September are January and February. We’ve visited in both months and had great trips! But if your kids don’t like the cold then this would be something to think very carefully about: the cold penetrated our thermals, and we did need regular warm ups with hot chocolate.
Final Thoughts: Visiting Disneyland Paris in September
For us, September is a real Disneyland Paris sweet spot. The summer rush has gone, the weather is lovely, and you still get all of the magic of summer in Disneyland Paris without the chaos that can come with August.

When you visit Disneyland Paris in September you can slow down a little, enjoy the shorter queues (our boys used this as an opportunity to ride their favourite rides over and over again), and soak up the parades and the general atmosphere without feeling rushed or hemmed in.
If you’re flexible about when you visit Disneyland Paris (because you’re not tied to school schedules) then I think visiting Disneyland Paris in September is one of the best choices you can make! You’ll save money because you won’t have to pay peak season prices for tickets or accommodation.
There is a drawback of visiting Disneyland Paris in September – it’s a month that doesn’t include a big, seasonal event right now. But that’s exactly why it’s such an affordable, underrated gem. If you’re booking your Disneyland Paris trip in September then I’m jealous! It’s a great month to be in the parks.
