A complete guide to the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay, A Tokyo Disney Partner Hotel
During our most recent trip to Japan, we decided we didn’t want to hop from hotel to hotel like we did last time. We wanted to choose just one hotel and stick to it!
This meant hours of searching. Reading blogs, endless reviews, even watching YouTube videos because we were so desperate to make the right choice. But I think we nailed it!
The hotel we chose? The Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay. This is a four-star hotel that was totally affordable but packed full of amenities. And we LOVED calling this place home for two weeks.
It’s a hotel that’s really designed with kids and families in mind. In fact the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay is the most family-friendly hotel in Japan we’ve visited so far. From making their own (free) candy floss in the welcome lounge to choosing their own (also free!) child-friendly amenities in the Tiroir, it really felt like the boys weren’t an unwelcome addition but the actual stars of the show.

Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay Room Types And What We Booked
We booked a standard family room, which had a double bed and two single beds for the boys. The beds took up a lot of space in the room, but there was still plenty of space for a small table and two chairs, as well as wardrobe to unpack. Our suitcases slid comfortably under the beds so they were out of the way.

But some of the rooms here have bunk beds, and can accommodate up to 6 people. Making this a rare thing in Japan: a hotel perfect for larger families. Or you can get a classic double room with a single bed if you’re travelling as a couple, or a younger family with a baby or toddler in a cot. Cots can be provided in the rooms for free.
There are loads of different types of configurations here, meaning this hotel will work for all types of families and travellers.
The bathroom in our room was huge and comprised of 3 separate rooms – a toilet, a bathroom (with a large bath and a shower) and then a vanity area with a sink, storage and large mirror.
Like many hotels in Japan the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay has lovely waffle pyjamas in the room. But unlike other hotels, you can also go to the Tiroir to collect free children’s pyamas in a wide range of sizes, including for babies and toddlers. So no need to pack your own, saving that valuable suitcase space!

Other noteable features in the room are the large TV (which you could connect to Netflix to watch your own favourites in your own language) and our personal favourite was the leg and foot massager in the room. We all used this every single night when our legs were aching after 20,000 steps a day!
A Tokyo Disney Partner Hotel
As i’ve already mentioned, the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay is a Tokyo Disney Partner hotel. That means that the hotel has Mickey Mouse’s seal of approval, its wonderfully and conveniently close to both Tokyo Disney parks, and that the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay puts on its own free shuttle bus to the parks.

I recommend buying tickets to Tokyo Disneyland BEFORE you arrive at the park and definitely before you arrive in Tokyo. You don’t want to book a stay in a Disneyland Partner hotel then not be able to get into the parks.
We always book our tickets via Klook, as the Tokyo Disneyland website often doesn’t accept overseas credit cards as payment. And its easy and convenient, with your tickets being emailed to you instantly. You’ll get a QR code that you can scan into the Tokyo Disney resort app, and you’re ready to hit the parks!

Where Is The Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay
As the name suggests, the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay is located in Tokyo Bay. In fact, it’s located right in front of Shin-Urayasu Station (the hotel is actually attached to the station via a covered walkway meaning you can travel from the station to the hotel without getting wet on rainy days).

The most significant attraction near the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay is the Tokyo Disney Resort, and most people staying here are doing so because they’re visiting Disneyland.
Although not an official Disney hotel, this is a Disneyland Tokyo Resort partner hotel, which means that it offers a short and easy free shuttle bus ride to the two Tokyo Disneyland Parks. This was so convenient and easy, especially at the end of a long day in the park when we just couldn’t bear the thought of walking another step or getting on the metro.
I’ve popped the shuttle bus schedule below so you can see how regular the buses are:

But Shin-Urayasu Station is on the JE Metro Line, meaning that you can travel directly from Shin Urayasu to Tokyo Station in 20 minutes. This means that although you’re staying further out from the city (there’s no denying this) it’s not wildly inconvenient to use this as a base for your wider Tokyo explorations.
We’ve stayed on the JE line before (you can read our review of the Shiomi Prince hotel here) and we like being on this side of the city, so this was the right choice for us. The location was in part one of the reasons why we picked this hotel! I know other people prefer to stay right in the thick of things, and that’s a valid approach/opinion too.
Just behind Shin-Urayasu Station is a small shopping centre where you can get all the essentials (if, like me, you consider Uniqlo an essential) and plenty of restaurants too. We went here for dinner a couple of nights, stopping in a teriaki restaurant, saizeriya (a cheap family restaurant that serves Italian-ish food) and one night when we were particularly tired we got McDonalds from here and took it back to our room to eat on our bed while watching a film!

How Much Did The Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay Cost?
We stayed in the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay for 14 nights and paid a total of £1,834.70 for a family of four people (with two children aged 9 and 12) sharing a family room. That works out at £131.05 per night. This was for a stay in April 2025 – I know prices change depending on duration and the time of the year.
The hotel is much cheaper the further out you book, so you’ll get the best price by booking as soon as you start planning your trip. We booked 13 months before our stay, as soon as we’d set the dates and paid for the flights!

If you’re a couple looking for a standard double room then I just checked, and the rates for these start from as low at £85 per night.
We booked via Expedia rather than booking with the hotel directly as this worked out a bit cheaper AND because we like the flexibility that Expedia offers to cancel without penalty, and not pay until you arrive. You can work this out and price up your own dates here.

Why The Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay Is Great For Families
One of the reasons the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay really stood out for us was the abundance of amentities, and many of these were designed to make life easier for families.
As we were checking in there was huge interactive wall where the boys could play and run off a little energy after a long flight. We saw so many kids playing here throughout our two week stay.

The Tiroir (which is the free amenities room where you could choose your own amenities for the duration of your stay) had nappies, wet wipes, childrens cutlery and other essentials that you could take for free. And also had a lending library of toys and books (everything you could think of, including bath toys) then you could borrow and take to your room.
My boys highlight was the welcome lobby, which guests could visit every day from between 2pm and 10pm. This was a bar area in the lobby with tables and a relaxed atmosphere, but the reason the boys LOVED this? As well as offering free drinks (fizzy pop for them and a beer for daddy) they could help themselves to free sweet treats such as candy, candy floss, cake and cookies, and pancakes.
You could sit and relax in the lobby with your free drinks and snacks, or you could take these back to your room. The whole vibe of this area (and the whole hotel) is relaxed, welcoming and family friendly. There were kids playing together and parents relaxing after a long day in the same space.

From a practical point of view its worth pointing out that there was a laundry room in the hotel where you could wash and dry clothes, minimising suitcase space and cleaning up those inevitable little person messes. This is called a coin laundry machine but you should actually pay via your phone.
Finally it’s worth noting that there was a Lawsons convenience store in the hotel on the ground floor. This was a godsend for getting snacks to take back to the room, and we also stopped here for a quick and cheap breakfast more times than I care to admit!

FAQs and Further Reading
How close is Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea?
The hotel is just one stop away from Tokyo Disney Resort via the JR Keiyo Line (approx. 3 minutes). It’s located right next to Shin-Urayasu Station, making it super convenient for park visits. But you could also use the free hotel shuttle bus – we visited the Tokyo parks both ways, and found the shuttle bus so simple and easy to use!
Can I book Tokyo Disney tickets directly through the hotel?
Yes, you can purchase tickets to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea at the hotel, but they can’t guarentee availability on very busy park days. Even better—book discounted tickets online through Klook before your arrival to avoid long queues and guarantee availability.
Is breakfast included at the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay?
This depends on your booking plan. Many packages include a buffet breakfast, which offers both Japanese and Western options (great for picky eaters or young kids). Our booking didn’t include breakfast (we didn’t want to be tied to it every morning) but we did have breakfast a couple of mornings and it was incredible – highly recommended.

There’s a picture of my breakfast above – there was a whole donut wall, and the breakfast burgers (yup, burgers for breakfast!) were griddled freshly while we waited.

We actually stayed here for 2 full weeks, because it was so easy for visiting Tokyo Disney resort AND because it made a great base for going into central Tokyo too.
